So here we are again, writing some crap about what I've done recently in my free time. I know, it doesn't get much more exciting than this, does it? No it does not. It doesn't get more interesting than this either, does it? Oh hell no, this is the shit right here, the golden shiny shit that Quetzalcoatl would call a taste of paradise. That's right folks, we're about to begin but I must ask you one more question first: Are you ready to get your minds blown?

Why do I blog? To feel noticed, to garner some attention, but most importantly to feel like I'm saying something either significant (lol fat chance) or entertaining. I know I'm all over the place all the damn time, which makes it hard to maintain regular readers. Now don't get me wrong, I love all 4 of you, but 4 is a small assed number and I just want to sit it down in front of a TV showing Oprah and spoon feed it bon bons. Hopefully then it will plump up.

What do heavier traffic blogs have that I don't? Well some have a past of popularity so they already have a following, most of whom don't care what the blogger says as long as he says something. Others pick one game or one MMO niche and focus solely on that while belittling/comparing the other genres and thus pissing other people off which creates a shit storm of traffic. Some bloggers like to be knee deep in the details of systems that power our favorite games. Then you've got people like me. We play games, usually changing a game every month or so, and all we write is our experience in said games and our expectations of future said games.

So, what do I do to increase my traffic? I think no matter what path I choose I'm going to have to whore myself out on the ol comment trains again (how do you think you found this place?). But then what? Do I focus on one game or a niche, do I get knee deep in the details, or do I stop blogging and accomplish some MMO career and then start blogging again?

I started writing this before my last post. I think I'm just going to "share my experiences", much like I have been doing, just with video. Shit, maybe I'll even learn something.

I'm getting a little wary of Aion. I keep seeing all of this hullabaloo about the grind getting so horrible the further you get. I don't think I'm seeing it yet, though I am probably getting close. I say this because the new areas I reach keep having fewer and fewer quests (I've since discovered the top half of Impetsium or whatever). What I'm wondering is how bad is it going to be in my eyes if at all?

That seems like part of the problem, that we only have a "bad thing" to look forward to. What are the positives to look forward to? I've heard nothing of the PvP quality except that it might be bad. I've heard of "rifting" as something to do but I don't know what it is.

When did the MMO community get so negative? I've been trying to stay out of the mainstream opinion (pertaining to MMOs) but it seeks me out and finds me anyway. Here I am giving everything a chance and then some beta tester that probably didn't test shit tells the world that this, this, and this sucks ass. Since the game company doesn't tell anyone shit, this is the first thing anyone hears about it and our preconceptions become tainted. What the fuck is that bullshit?

Let's use our jump to conclusions mat and say that the beta tester that didn't test shit is some dumb kid whose first MMO (and probably only MMO) was WoW. Do you see where I'm going with this now? I hate to jump back on this train, but the scourge is spreading and it is important to talk about the 900 lb (or 90 stone for our "other" readers) gorilla in the corner throwing shit at everyone. Ever since the MMO community exploded and multiplied by about 10, I can't play an MMO without running into some stupid effin WoW kids.

Aion is not excluded from this douchebaggery and that makes me sad and pissed off. Yesterday (Monday) I was doing a gathering quest to get 15 Kandula. I got fucked over left and right on this shit and god damn did it piss me off. There are mobs near this node, let me clear them away. Mid fight some shit bag walks right through me and steals my shit. So now to me, "It's on!", I hit my charge (sprint) spell and run to the next node, I'm at the node, it is all mine, yes! FUCK! I aggroed a mob, and now another shit bag that I sprinted passed is stealing my shit! Motherfucker! I need 3 fucking Kandula and its taking me way too long. I find one close to town and start harvesting. In between clicks to harvest, a level fucking 27 steals my fucking node! What the fuck.

Didn't people used to show some god damn common courtesy? Didn't people used to get into shit for impeding on a lower levels ability to do a quest? I didn't try to report him because that's not my style and I'm sure there are much more important issues for the GMs to handle, but god damn, what has this community devolved into? A bunch of lonely, shitty fucking give me now kids. And I hate it.

But thanks to the Change Channel option, I'm still able to have fun!

Right on time!

I am tired of Diablo 2, shocking, I know. I hate when you play a game long enough to begin questioning it. What am I gonna do today? Well I can play this guy and find items, this guy and find items, or this guy and find items.... So I have found myself playing CS and CS:S again, getting in some of that bang bang boom and such. Little bit of boom bam bing.

I just got back from a vacation to North Carolina to see my mom. The drive took quite a bit out of me but it's always cool to look at the distance you traveled on a map and compare it to a globe or something. One day I'm on a big ass mountain covered in snow and the next I'm in Florida sweating. I saw about 30 elk at once which was pretty neat. They all had tracking collars and shit due to being reintroduced to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park in 2001. There were 50 of them then and now there are around 125. There was a park ranger talking to people about them with props and shit. She said: "They also eat a lot of insects, which is why there are insects in *reaches for a container* this poop *moves poop around with finger*." I wasn't kidding about the shit, you see.

I watched some old VHS tapes at my moms and Return of the Jedi was on one of them. I've since been fiending for some Star Wars action of some sort. I don't know if I can bring myself to play SWG again, in fact I think I can't. I'm just going to have to wait for the new one and it better feel like the Star Wars universe, because SWG gave me that feeling all the time, and if SWG can do it then these new school motherfuckers should be able to.

DAoC can no longer be played, it's done, and I'm going to miss it. Warhammer pops into my mind from time to time but I should know it is a pretty hollow feeling game, so I doubt I'll play that again. EQ2 never rubbed me the right way, so I'm done with that. Anarchy Online is ancient and Diablo 2-esque in that you're just leveling and looking for items in an old ass game. There just doesn't seem to be very much to choose from.

The game I'm most leaning toward is AoC because I've still never played it. I'm a bit worried about the directional swinging shit but I'm a big boy and should be able to figure it out. There is also Aion but I think I'm going to give that game a bit of time as well before playing it, I've always known that it's a good idea to do that but I've not really done it.

I was wrong about the Wintergrasp quests being limited to 5 weekly quests for stonekeeper's shards. I'm not 100% sure what the true setup is, but, I just need to do 1 more quest (10 shards) and then I've got plate shoulders. My DK is 64.5 now. I am leveling him primarily now, due to some changes in circumstance.

My friend who I've mentioned a few timers (tells me I'm wrong, Warhammer, ex raid leader) has finally given in to my peer pressure (still a maybe it seems now) and is resubbing his WoW account. He is transferring a 70 Protection Warrior to my server and wants someone to level with. Which is why I'm leveling the DK. Let's hope he doesn't change his mind (might already have lol, wrote this yesterday in class).

I'm starting to finally get Outlands gear that is better than my DK starter armor, which is nice. This time around I'm going through Zangarmarsh, which I skipped on my Warlock. I also plan on going through Blade's Edge Mountains and the other zone after that one with Area 52, both of which I've not even seen. I think that should be enough to get me to 68, then it's off to Northrend!

I was asked to join a Heroic ToC run. I responded by saying I've never raided. I didn't get a response back, lol, he must have gotten DCed. I started working towards my 12 aspirant's seals for the Argent Tournament again, meh.

What is the deal with being a Jewelcrafter? They're just supposed to have the best fuckin stats ever? Have you seen the JC only gems? They're close to offering 50% more the bonus of the highest bonus gems that everyone can use. Seriously, I feel like I have to be a JC on every toon now.

Sure wish I didn't raise tailoring to 425 just for the Frostsavage set. I should just make like 50 big bags and change profession. I still don't have professions on my DK. Probably going skinning and JC.

Definitely buying tome of cold winter flying for my DK to use at 68.

My friend is currently playing Diablo 2. We got to talking in depth about it online yesterday and it really made me want to play, so, I did! I created a Javazon (my fav) and got to level 11, after being rushed to Act 4 as a level 1 heh. I love how you can do stuff like that in D2. I've got a stash full of items I can't use yet, plus I'm wearing some items that I shouldn't have yet, huzzah for twinking!

I still plan on playing WoW, but also D2, so we'll see where it goes!

Who woulda thought Bone Thugs could ever be so fitting?

So where did we leave off? Having trouble figuring out what to do with my 80. Not sure about my alt situation as well. I'm also feeling pretty lonely in WoW. These are all problems that need solving in order for me to stay with the game.

I wanted to just go straight PvP once I hit 80 but am already feeling the pain of the infamous honor grind. What makes that worse is that the gear I'm grinding for is at the bottom of the totem pole. I did some 2v2 skirmishes with my RL friend who plays a holy priest, but we got rocked all but 2 games, which we won against the same people. Now I am reconsidering and leaning more towards raiding. I feel kinda bad for saying that since I am historically anti raiding, but I just don't see any other way.

With my alts I am also at a crossroads. Do I level the DK to 80? My 19 horde hunter is pretty fun, but he does have his faults. Do I go back to the Pally, Rogue, or Mage? I don't think so. I'm one week away from getting heirloom shoulders and I'm still not 100% sure what I'm getting. I respecced my 20 warrior from fury to protection, which I have never played before. To be honest, this alt is the one messing up my decisions. Protection is fucking awesome. Pull with taunt, sunder (or rend) followed by another sunder, using revenge whenever possible and the shield bash on casters. If I get a few adds then I demoralizing shout, thunder clap, cleave, and revenge occasionally. He is a beast and I love it. So do I get plate shoulders and level my DK or give them to Mr. Prot Warrior? What if I get the 1h sword that costs 200 shards (same as shoulders) and give that to the warrior? I think the best idea is to get plate shoulders and give them to my DK, level him, then use him to get more heirloom items and really deck my warrior out.

Romeo, Romeo, where art thou Romeo? I get fucking bored not having any one to talk to in game. Don't get me wrong, I stay busy, I just don't group with anyone which means no instance phats and such. So do I find a guild? Most people can't put up with me. Not because I'm a foul mouth (all the time) but more because I'm selfish, I guess. I don't like to drop what I'm doing to help some fucker who can't help themselves. Plan it ahead of time and ask me to be there, it's not that hard. I'm just afraid of people sometimes, I don't want to be criticized especially by 12 year olds lol. Ugh! I really should just start diving in, if I don't like it then I'll leave. Should I worry about being labeled a guild hopper? I don't think so, especially if I don't take anything from them. I'm a damn adult (says the law!) and I can do what I want!

Yesterday was one of my busiest days ever. We're moving our office (our secondary office) downtown (we move it almost every year, 2nd time we're downtown). I set up the Verizon installation and was given a window of 8AM-5PM. Nice and small, especially nice because I normally get to work at 9AM. So there I am, twiddlin my thumbs, setting up desks and computers, and waiting for Verizon. It was a very unusually active work day, but since I got a lot done, and did it alone, I got a pretty good source of accomplishment. Reading the description of what I did now, (wrote this in class, typing it now) the day does not appear to be very active, but trust me, it was.

I missed a day of school last Thursday and pretty much had a ton of make up work to do before today (today being Thursday). So when I got home I began working on it. Well, four hours later I was done. 10 fuckin o'clock. No games, minimal weed, very out of my ordinary. After doing that I remoted into the work server to catch up on some things I also missed. I was completely done at 10:30, I put on the movie Congo (bad gorillas!) and barely got to hear the beginning before drifting off.

Today myself and Melanie decided to wake up early again. I think it gives us more energy, I know it does me, and I'm notorious for waking up early as shit.

Still level 80. DK is 62. Not touching other alts (save my Horde Hunter) until I have those heirloom motherfuckers. I'm now at 100 Stone Keeper's Shards, two more weeks and I've got a plate chest piece or shoulders that give 10% exp gained on quests and kills. I'm thinking I'm going to give that first piece to my DK to help him get to 80, then I'll have two 80s capable of getting Stone Keeper's Shards, which means 2 heirloom items in the same time it now takes me to get one! Brilliant!

On my Warlock I have gotten 4/5 Deadly Gladiator pieces which gets me the set bonus of -0.2 seconds cast time on my fear spell. You know that spell, right? Of course you do. It changed the face of PvP. We used to just stand there when we were being CC'ed, but now we run around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Along with those pieces I've got 2/3 (not a set with bonuses) Furious Gladiator pieces, which have a higher item level, thus, more utility bonuses than the Deadly Gladiator pieces.

The Furious Gladiator pieces fill in the holes of the Deadly Gladiator set. Deadly consists of Head, chest, legs, shoulders, and hands. Furious offers wrist, feet, belt, a ring, a cape, a necklace, and a trinket if you need it. There are Wintergrasp items almost identical to these Furious ones. I bought one of the WG rings to compliment the Furious ring I intend to buy. So I'm getting close to being decked out in purples, save my weapons. I still have 1 piece of Deadly to acquire. Then I need the Furious ring, necklace, cape, and 1 piece of armor. Then I need a trinket from WG. I already have the Darkmoon: Death trinket, and I'll be using it with a +111 spell power and remove effects when used trinket. Then I need to gather mats for the crafted epic dagger for casters. Then a purple wand and I should be all purple.

I got a Beerfest achievement along with a Pirate one. Big ol meh if you ask me. But I do have 93 Brewfest tokens and I am going to run 4 trips of beer for 8 more. Why? Well a pink elephant pet costs 100, and I'm close, so why not SWG this shit up. But Bonedead, what do you mean "SWG this shit up"? Well, I'll tell you. In SWG the only thing to measure for an epeen is how much special stuff you have. The older it is, the cooler you are. WoW will be like that someday, when it is moribund, but even now you can see it a bit, especially with the "Gotta catch em all" attitude with mini pets.

Anyways, I rolled a Horde Hunter on my Alliance server, which is pretty neat IMO. I'm sure I'll use the goblin auction house sometime down the road. I've made a few hunters before, but this one seems a lot better. Maybe I'll get into that next time, maybe not, we shall see!

Why? Well obviously it's because the WoW devil has the genre in a headlock, and he gives one mean noogie. I know others have used fast food restaurants to compare MMOs, so let me try it. I'm not very old, I'm 22, so I haven't seen as much change in the world as others. But, I do remember when McDonald's wasn't considered a bad thing, when everyone was "lovin it" from the media to our role models, everyone was endorsing it.

McDonald's isn't going anywhere so their competition has to adapt, but sometimes they must adapt to their competition (and resisting that change could prove to hurt them). Dollar menus, opening at 6am or staying open 24 hours, an extra big size for those who really want to stand out. These changes among fast food restaurants are now a common denominator between them all. Guess what? No one is going to revert to shit. They're going to find ways to make things cheaper, faster, and tastier. Their competition is going to have to follow their lead. So, do you follow the leader? Do you try and break off from the group and find your own way and risk weathering the storm alone? If it works won't it just be stolen by others? Maybe he's walking towards a cliff and he doesn't even know it. Maybe he knows what he's doing and that is why he is the leader. Maybe he's just wingin it.

I can guarantee you one thing and that is this: McDonald's changed to better serve their customers.

That is the way the world works. If you want to preserve the good ole days of Mom and Pop restaurants, you're going to need to open your own or wait for someone else to, but it isn't guaranteed that someone will. Plus, if you were to have success with it, would you think of expansion, would you build 50 stores if there was enough demand, would you become the leader if you could? Those who fight change risk stagnation. It is harder to convert resisters than it is to bring in those who embrace the change. You will get left behind.

Some day there won't be human races, we will all be a mix of everything, and I think a lot of things are going the same route. Do we really need singleplayer, multiplayer, fps, rts, card, board, and mini games (plus all of the others I've left out)? You can already see it happening. Singleplayer and multiplayer are going to merge eventually, it's gonna happen, it's already happening.

Looking back in time a bit

I haven't blogged much because I haven't had the time. But, before reaching 80 I was blogging by hand in school a bit. I'm now typing some of that up for you.

Mafia Wars is getting old. I keep pissing people off and they keep getting their 1 million fake friends from Mexico to rape me. I think it is because I find weak dumb people with big buildings and then link them to my friends. I miss the days when they would retaliate with a punch or by putting me on the hitlist. Nowadays though I just get attacked by 6 people multiple times in under a minute.

WoW is moving along nice and slowly. I wish it would go faster, obviously. But let's face it, I want to be 80. At least 78 so I can make/wear the Frostsavage set, which is recommended as a starter PvP set. Shit, at least 76 so I could wear my chest piece I bought off a big walrus man. But I must wait, that is the wayy the game was made, and I respect all of the parts I don't complain about so why not extend that respect to the parts I do complain about.

I've finally gotten beyond Netherweave and into Frostweave. I was lucky to stumble upon the quest for Improved Frostweave Gathering, however that is supposed to make sense. What do I learn, that some mobs keep an extra set of frostweave in their ass? I don't think so. Especially since frostweave is so expensive, they'd have to be pretty big pimpin to wipe their ass with that. Yeah, probably not. But who plays these games because every little detail makes sense?

So I'm almost 75 now. I know I was 74.5 yesterday, so why aren't I 75 today? School! Yep, I've returned again, going solo this time so no Melanie. I did my homework before I got high and after two hours, yep, at 8:15 pm I was done. Fuck dinner, I got a bong to rip and some game to play, god damnit!

I really wasn't in the mood to quest, especially since I'm at the point when they're all scattered across the zone instead of a few here and a few there. Which means I'm almost done with Dragonblight. That would make Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, and Dragonblight down.

What I decided to do instead was to queue up for some good ole fashioned AV. I chose AV only because of the ridiculous amounts of honor and exp rewarded. Turning in a quest gives me around 20-30k, in AV I probably get 3-6 ticks of exp at around 18k each. So if I can play 3-4 rounds of AV, it's close to turning in 12-18 quests. Not to mention the 4-6k honor I get as well.

This helps because at 78 I can wear the Frostsavage set. The gear after that which I will be upgrading to costs a lot of honor. So if I'm making decent honor, decent xp, and I'm getting training against level 80s then why not do it? I've always been told when trying to brag about doing good in low level BGs that level 80 is totally different. I still don't buy it. Maybe I will when they're all 80, but not yet. Especially when I get 8th highest damage on my team of 40 at level 74.

So now what? I'm level 89, I'm slowly grinding honor, but I really want heirlooms. I get 50 stonekeepers shards a week from Wintergrasp which can be used for the PvP heirlooms. Only problem is it would take 4 weeks to get one piece of armor and 7 weeks for a weapon. I don't know if I'm a fan of that. in fact, I'm not, at all.

What I'm starting to wonder is how long would it take on the PvE route? Plus, would the Argent Tournament be something I should start working on again? I do believe I'd have to work some to get to the point where I can begin acquiring the heirloom currency.

I'm also looking towards raiding for emblems.

(It just stops right there because I had to start paying attention)

Anyways, theres a little update for you lol, I know, top quality shiz right there.

Why hello thar! Good to have you back, good to be back, and of course, wiener.

I've been playing Mafia Wars on Facebook way too much recently. It is like crack and I know it is incredibly simple and a copied formula with many different colors. I know this. But it doesn't matter, because it's fuckin fun.

I spend all my energy, get tons of fuckin money, and then find some newb with a smaller mafia and big buildings. Anything over a tourist shop is considered big because each successful robbery nets 300k+. Of course my favorite is a mega casino which have netted me up to 700k a hit. Makin money is easy. Buying big property at a low level is retarded, unless you have 500 fake friends. What you have to do is see that robbing a valu mart gets you about 20k a hit. Robbing a tourist shop gets you about 100k. When you're high enough level that 100k doesn't seem like shit, then you're ready for some tourist shops. I just recently acquired 10 tourist shops for the price of 50 million. I had the beachfront property for a while just waiting.

I've begun throwing all of my energy into the lowest tier jobs for the extra stat points. It's not working that great but it is working as I have 4 more stat points than my friend who is 1 level above me.

Whatever you do, do not start playing Mafia Wars, I'm serious. You will not stop.

So I hit level 72 yesterday in WoW. Boy is it slowing down in the leveling section. I'm no longer running around with 15 quests and turning them all in at once, nope. No direction from here on out it appears, back to stumbling onto quest hubs, JOY! If you're going to hold my hand the whole damn time, don't let go at the end, please. I wish my quest rewards would replace my gear again, apparently the first ones I got were just too good. So I've just been leveling.

Exciting, huh?

Mario Kart Wii online multiplayer is so amazingly fun. Playing against guys in Japan at 1:30 am EST, you can't beat that, you can't.

With the recent WoW patch 3.2 some changes were made to the Battlegrounds.

Battleground experience has arrived!

* Players will now be awarded experience for completing objectives and actions that yield honor in Battlegrounds (honorable kills not included).
* Players who do not wish to gain experience through PvP can visit Behsten in Stormwind or Slahtz in Orgrimmar - both located near the Battlemasters in either city - and turn off all experience accumulation for the cost of 10 gold.
* Disabling experience gains will prevent a player from gaining experience through any means available in the game.
* Players with experience gains turned off who compete in Battlegrounds will face off only against other players with experience gains turned off.
* Behsten and Slahtz can reinstate experience gains for players, for a 10 gold fee of course. Any experience that would've been accumulated if experience gains were enabled cannot be recovered.

Can you guess what's happening now? Need a hint? Here's a few.

Have you figured it out yet? Notice how most of the people complaining are a level that ends in a 9? Yeah. That's only a few from the first page of my Battlegroup's forum.

So this is the patch that severely hampers twinking in the BGs. The twinkers are now crying because they have to turn exp off in order to stay at their twinked level. Because they turn off exp gains they are sorted into BGs with only other people who have exp off. Their problem is that there aren't enough of them on at the same time to successfully start a BG. Poor lil fellers!

Some of them have excuses for playing twinks, all of them are horrible lies though. Here's a few I've seen.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of twinks are stupid fuckin kids, shit, read their complaints on the forums and it becomes quite obvious this is fact. You can see in their words what their problem is, they can't win anymore. They are so self centered that they forget that the guys they've been crushing like eggs are actual people. They feel more entitled, especially with daddy's credit card behind them.

I see them saying how regular "lvlers" are to blame for QQing too much. How fucking retarded blind are these kids? You've been ruining the game for tons of people the whole time you've been having this "fun". You do not realize that your definition of "fun" is synonymous with "I run faster than 5 year olds!! So last weekend I went up to my friend's place in Tampa again and we got our Mario Kart the fuck on. Last time we skipped 50cc, I believe we got golds in 100cc, and we had golds in most of 150cc but some were still silver or bronze. Well we managed to finish up 150cc which unlocked the Mirrored tracks. I believe we got a couple golds before we passed out. It seems like the driver's skill doesn't increase much in between 50-100-150ccs but the bullshit meter is what makes the difference. What is the bullshit meter? How about kicking ass the whole time and being in 8th until the 2nd half of the last lap, when you get the bullet and are dropped right in first place a few seconds before the finish line. Shit like that happens more and more when you increase the difficulty, but it really does trick you into thinking you're awesome.

I have gotten to level 66 in WoW on mah Warlock. I am getting quite excited because the levels aren't really that hard. I said I was going to Zangamarsh next but I still haven't been there. I have been able to solo many of the group quests because Warlocks are fucking awesome, as long as the elite doesn't have 50k HP and hit like a truck, I can wtfpwn it in the face. Anyways I received a quest to go to Shattrath and was even given the flight path, that was a nice touch. So from there I began workin on my Aldor rep, my friend in Tampa says I'm wasting my time, but god damnit I don't care. I'm not trying to level as fast as possible and when I hit 80 I'm not going raiding, so, how about I play the game the way I want to. He's got an 80 Warlock and used to be a raid leader on a PvE server, but I'm on a PvP server and I like to beat people.

I did just about all of the quests in Terokkar Forest and have worked my way into Nagrand. I've been catching my first glimpse of the dreaded rep grind I've heard so much about, but you know what? I'm not even worried about it simply because I'm a PvPer. When I'm 80 I'll have decent gear, I'll be able to go into the BGs over and over, even if I suck, and get enough honor and marks to buy some halfway decent shit. I've got 3 purples already at 66 as a solo player, I believe all are PvP rewards.

Here's My Armory.

I know the gloves and wrists need work. As soon as I get a level or two I'll be able to solo that demon fucker that summons infernos outside Auchindoun. The quest reward for that is some nice gloves to replace those level 40 ones.

But yeah, I think I'll be fine.

Console games, WoW, and a closed beta (shhh)

I recently acquired Mario Kart for the Wii. Mario Kart is pretty much the only reason I bought a Wii and it took me about a year to finally get it heh. We only have 1 nunchuck so Melanie uses the steering wheel, she says she prefers it, but everyone knows the joystick on the nunchuck is better. The game is a blast, of course. It has been since Super Nintendo and probably will be until they stop making it.

I've played some other console games recently. Mario Party for Wii, CoD WaW co-op along with some NAZI ZOMBIES for PS3, Rayman Raving Rabbids for Wii, and a small dose of Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well. Mario Party for the Wii is just that, a party game, the more people the merrier. It gets old pretty quick though. Rayman Raving Rabbids is just as fun, if not moreso, than Mario Party. CoD WaW is a difficult adjustment to make for someone like myself (anti-console, need mouse for FPS) what with the auto aim and the joysticks. It is good fun though as soon as you get a hang of it. We only played the first level of MUA but it was pretty neat figuring it out and such, I'm sure we will be playing more of it in the coming weekends.

As for WoW, I'm 62 now on my Warlock, officially entering my first expansion for WoW, that being TBC. On the UOWoW server I have gone through all of the new areas due to the 10x exp, so I feel more comfortable doing it on live servers. I'm in Hellfire Peninsula and am wrapping things up there, soon moving into Zangamarsh. I have been trying to play on the weekends only so that I don't burn out. So far so good.

Closed Beta goodness. Let's just say this one is right up my ally. I haven't found but one bug so far, everything is polished quite nicely, it is really a breath of fresh air, especially since it's a closed beta. I'm working my way to the harder content which I'm assuming will be less polished, but we shall see. For now all I can say is that it is awesome, but saying what I have is probably too much anyway. Can't wait to spill the effin beans.

I haven't even played this game but I'm still on the side that's against it because, why the fuck not? It's obvious this game has issues as they're mentioned in both reviews! DUH! I don't want to hear reasonable answers as to why the negativity surrounding those "issues" is opinion, that's bullcrap! Seriously, what are there like 5 of you frothing at the mouth fanboy neckbeards trying to convince me to have an open mind? You need more than 5 to do that, newb! No this game shouldn't be treated like a niche title because that's just stupid bullshit! I don't know when you guys are going to pull your heads out of your asses and realize that it is just a straight up bonafied bad game. Interfaces aren't supposed to be cumbersome. Everything is supposed to be futuristic and easy as all fuckin hell so I can sit my 2 year old in front of it and tell him to hit this one button while daddy goes and drops a deuce. That is what gaming is my friends, not this, you're supposed to take a long time to loot so that you run the RISK of getting the REWARD shit. That shit is just fuckin stupid you retards.

First of all, I've been getting a few visitors looking for strafe jump scripts so they can bunny hop in CS. Strafe script CS strafe jump bunnyhop bhop, etc. (Hopefully this page will now show up when they search for it)

If you arrived here looking for a bhop script for CS, you're a fucking nub. If you bind jump to your mousewheel, you're a nub. How fucking hard is it to jump? If you're complaining about your thumb hurting or your spacebar, quit being bad. I used to be able to bunnyhop in old school cs when I used the ARROW KEYS. That means I didn't even have a spacebar. Seriously, why do you want to take the easy way out? It will not make you better, if anything, you'll be getting banned from servers and you'll suck even more than you already do. Nubs. You make me sick.

Alright, now that that is over. Next item of business. Apparently I have been passed in high score for the Hack n Slash mini game in FreeRealms. Their system is still shitty and broken because my personal leaderboard still says I'm #1 but the actualy leaderboard for the game has a guy with a higher score. Also, the score they have on file for me is not my highest score (as seen in the video). Will I attempt to regain my title as king of the kid's games? Maybe.

Neeext. I've been playing a lot of BF2 and it's been quite a releif. I'm actually having fun again, I'm lolling all over the place and my fiance is looking at me funny again. It's real good. I started with using the Special Forces and Sniper kits to just get back into the swing of things. Recently, I've been using the Anti-tank kit, specifically the rocket launcher. There is nothing more fun than blowing up vehicles with rockets, there just isn't. It's like hitting people from long distance with a rocket in Quake 3. Helicopters are like midair rockets in Quake 3. I defended a point a couple days ago from 2 helicopters. It was probably some of the best fun I've had in a while because there were shipping crates (the big ones on the boats in the movies with rotten potatoes and shit) littered across the place for me to bob and weave through. Plus once you hit a helicopter once the pilot starts shitting himself and sometimes will be scared to death and crash.

Still considering getting Conan. Also considering picking up some of the FPSes I've skipped over the years. That is it mothafuckas. Fuckin Friday, oh hells yes. Bai2us.

I care too much about my gaming life. I feel like I'm underachieving at playing games and having fun and entertaining all four of you. I need to relax, simple as that. You may be wondering wtf I am talking about, which makes sense. I beat myself up all the live long day. Over the smallest, stupidest shit, like playing games. I always feel guilty about not doing it good enough.

I was looking for a good quote on slowing down to use as the title for this post, but found nothing. I did however find these few which I think are great:

If you noticed, they are all along the same lines, relax. I picked these three because they inspire me to not do things that I usually do. Like not enjoy a day off because I'm thinking about what I should be doing at work. That's the first one. For the second quote, I've always felt like someday I would just change, no control over it whatsoever, it would just happen and I'd be different, I'd finally be who I am. If I'm so worried about who I am and who I'm going to be, I'm not being me, I'm being someone who worries about who they are so much that it affects their everyday life. For the third quote, I just completely agree with it. So many times I've had problems that seemed so incredible but were actually nothing at all. I made them out to be the end of the world events, which I understand is normal, but what's the point?

If no one knows what life is or why it is or what happens next, then why do I let these social "norms" poison who I am into someone that hates himself for trying to enjoy himself? Are we supposed to just accept that this is the way it is, that some people need to believe they know everything so they can make others feel bad? I think not. I think there are more than two paths, there has to be. I've always been the guy who didn't always walk on the sidewalks and preset paths. There would be a sidewalk that goes around a whole field and everyone would walk around when I would walk right through. I honestly can't remember seeing other people doing it

In math I would always find a shortcut to the answer, almost every time. I used to apply that term to many facets of my life, taking shortcuts. I've tried to apply it to the areas where it does not work, where shortcuts mean not doing everything, or half assing. That made me feel bad about taking shortcuts and I've kind of stopped trying to find them in my life. I don't need to do that. I just need to differentiate between taking a shortcut and half assing. I know who I am. I am Jason, I am bonedead, and I can find the quickest route. Now all I've got to do is figure out where I want to go.

I have been putting off this post because I don't have the video. It's hard to lie to you guys as much as I do. Well actually it is pretty easy, but it's hard to come back and admit it lol. However, I've been given a bit of motivation. I commented over at Syncaine's place in leet speaks and it was received quite well. So who knows.

Guess what I figured out? I'm less insane than a lot of MMO gamers. I'd like to thank the definition of insanity for this win. BTW it is the Einstein's definition which goes: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

My brother is still playing UOWoW.com, I don't know why, but he still is. He's the leader of his own guild, he's about to win some contest, he's into it. I get it. But what does he do everyday? What could he be doing differently everyday that makes it not boring?

After about 20 levels in an MMO you pretty much do the same thing for the rest of your play time. Press 1-= and ALT+1-ALT+= and CTRL+1-CTRL+=. Not everyone gets three bars deep in the shiz, but it's pretty much the most you can handle. Most people deal with 1-0 and ALT+1-ALT+5, that's my opinion, I don't have any facts or data to base this off of, it's just something I'm pretty damn sure of.

Seriously, how is that ever going to be fun? You will always kill a green/blue/yellow (most of the time). You even kill oranges most of the time. To be quite honest, most games even let you kill reds nowadays too, you just finish with lower HP. They've taken out the one variable you had to not be considered insane, the possibility of a different result. For yellows you always press 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and 5 when it is available. So you killed that even con mob pretty easily, wonder if you can take the orange eh? 1, 2, 3, 4, and sometimes 5. Heeey, he died too, my HP is just lower this time than with the even con mob. Man, talk about exciting.

Here is why I'm less insane. I play FPS games. Check out my Xfire, I played 12 hours of CS:S just last week. "That's not any different BONEHEAD, you hit the same keys too!"

HURRRRRRRR. You're right, I do hit the same keys, over and over and over. I even expect different results each time. Well, to be honest, I expect the same result every time, to kill that fucker, but I always get different results. So I'm less insane. Because I do the same thing over and over again and I achieve different results.

How often do you get different results in your MMOs? Not very often huh? Aww shucks, poor lil feller. Could you imagine if you did get different results? You would be fucking pissed wouldn't you? Because lets face it, the only different results are win and lose. There's not much middle ground there. You have to win all the damn time in MMOs because if you don't they're not fun. Why?

Well, because the game isn't fun if you lose. There are a fuck ton of games that are still fun when you lose, but not MMOs. They're made to take a looong time, because they're designed to create a steady flow of income, which means paying money for it every month. The game isn't originally designed for fun. The whole model is what can we make them do that will make them want to pay $15 every month?

What happened to games being hard? Anybody ever hear of the Mike Tyson game where you couldn't beat him? Anyone ever been to a carnival? Arcade? Ever play a sport against anyone? The game needs to be hard to be good at, hard to win. Nowadays we have games that you CAN'T LOSE in. I mean I understand the need to feel special, but come on, there is a reason humans are wired to feel bad when they lose, so they can learn from it.

What are today's games teaching the youth? Don't worry kids, you'll never fail! Everything is just so easy! You lost?!?! That person MUST BE CHEATING!

It is not looking good parents. You better keep your discipline hand strong these next few decades, or else we're all screwed.

DAoC is pretty cool. I love this classic server because Bonedancers have the 4 sec life tap yet again! Huzzah! I have a guy on the live servers named Forsectap but his life tap has a recharge of 8 seconds I believe. Talk about gay. Anyways, I can solo purples for fun because I steal their life every 4 seconds and it uses a very small amount of power. neat neat amirite? Riveting shit huh? I thought you'd think so.

I just checked out FreeRealms again. I'm still #1, well I would be if I paid $5.00 which I just might do. However, if I do, I'll be creating many more characters so that I can be ranked #'s 1-5 or however many characters you get. Yeah and I'm gonna make all of their names incredibly similar. I see that the top ranked players have changed quite a bit, someone has over 21000 now, but they're still 600 points below me. I really don't think these kids are trying hard enough. I mean, I'm 22 and I smoke a lot of pot. How on earth could my reaction time and hand eye coordination be better than a bunch of kids? I can never get as good at CS as I used to be, so that rules out the whole, I've still got it theory.

I'm a dumbass IRL. I almost threw away my relationship because I'm a tool shed. Now I just do what I'm told and uhh, leave the cave. I really like my cave though, it is very comfy. I've made an appointment to see my rapist again after a few weeks or a month hiatus. I don't think it is going to do much, but we'll see. When it gets to the point that I feel like I'm just talking to another friend, that's when I should stop paying for it imo. Before I stopped it was as if I was going to school but I didn't do my homework. He'd ask me what I needed today and I'd be like shit man I don't know. Can you make everything awesome? How about a bunch of money? I don't fucking know what I need that's why I came to see you. I can only stress out about my required tasks so much. Eventually I just keep going because I get out of work an hour early.

Does everyone have to get mad at the things they are tired of or want to distance themselves from? When I take breaks from weed, I have to hate the shit and everyone who is pro it. I feel like I have to get mad at my therapist so he stops trying to reschedule me every week. My brother and his friends will say that any MMO I am playing sucks pretty much because it isn't WoW or EQ1. My brother doesn't even know shit about MMOs, but he still does it. One of his friends is one of those big queers that played EQ1 for 5 years but acts like they played everything a lot. I played that game for 5 minutes, it fuckin sucked. Okay WoW boy, enjoy your 10 years til max level and then your 10 years of raiding. See, you have to hate shit. I'm pretty sure you only have to do it because everyone wants to be right or everyone thinks they're right. Technically we all are, because we had to make the decision to switch from game A to game B for ourselves. Guess what you told yourself before you did it? That it was the right decision. So when we start talking about our preferences with one another, their decisions conflict with our decisions, and the next thing we know we're trying to shove each others' games down the others' throat.

Am I getting too old for online games? I'm sure the really old people would laugh their ass off at that, but I am kind of serious. It seems like every game community I glance at is plagued with a bunch of retarded high school failures who think they're owed the world from everyone else. Do not go to suggestion forums ever! It is the worst fucking place in all of the internet. 95% of the posts you find will be kids requesting changes so that they can do better. They don't even realize they're doing it. They think that everyone already knows that it needs to be done. But they are not aware that they're being selfish little entitled fucks. Shit, they probably think they're doing the community a great service, because they found the obvious unbalance in the games code. Been there, done that.

I've been imagining myself diving into a community. Actually communicating with strangers and not holding back or fitting in, just being myself and seeing how it goes. In my fantasies it all works out great, the guild or community molds itself around me and accepts me, but I'm pretty damn sure that wouldn't be the case. Some of my best grouping experiences in MMOs was when I grouped up with some Euro players in DAoC. They needed a Skald, and I have a level 50 one. I got on their vent and everything. I couldn't understand one fuckin word, but it didn't matter, because we all knew what to do (well, I didn't, but they did heh). I find myself in a similar situation on my current free server, Uthgard.

It is an "international" server which means a fuck ton of Euros not from the UK with sprinkles of english speaking peoples. Still, there are tons of entitled retarded fucks, they just have horrible broken english now. Which kind of makes it less irritating I guess, more comical, but I can still decipher the shit and figure out that they're stupid fucking kids thinking they're pulling a fast one and that they'll finally be OPed and awesome. Except they don't consider being OPed a bad thing, to them it just means they're good. Been there, done that.

How does one go about "turning over a new leaf"? I sometimes consider sitting down and making huge lists. These lists will be like checklists for my life. Get up before 7:20, shower, brush teeth, be out of the door by 7:50. I would need sooo many though. Dirty a dish? Clean it before doing anything else. Trash? Empty immediately. Laundry as soon as the hamper is full. Car tires feeling funny? Get them looked at. Need to sign up for school? Fucking do it! Have you taken Melanie out recently? Do it. Work would be pretty difficult. Are you blogging? Stop. Are you reading blogs? Fucking stop it! Do everything you have to do and ask for more you lazy motherfucker. Easier said than done(el cop out?).

I've discovered that the Uthgard server is really incomplete. They plan on having the SI zones in, but they're not done. There is not one named Tomte outside of Nisse's at the camps nearby. Whole spawns are missing. Tons of quests are missing. Loot. Everything. The battlegrounds seem like the biggest joke. Thidranki allows up to level 46. Yep, the 20-24 battleground is open to level 46s. There is also a whole army of give it to me now kiddies who just want to stay in the BGs all day long. What I believe is that the staff listened to their requests in the beginning, unaware that they would never want to leave. Now the staff is complaining that the players are complaining.

The one thing I wanted was the ability to go up to named guards after level 10, target them, and /s task. You used to get a task to go kill a blue mob in the surrounding area, you're given a direction and everything, plus when you return you get an uber XP reward and a decent amount of coin. I'm pretty surprised that it isn't in.

I believe one of the biggest problems is that the server is billed as a Classic server. I have a feeling the majority of the vocal players didn't play the game in it's first year or two. Even the ones that did are confusing features from years 3 through 6 (or however many years its been out) with features from the first couple years. Tireless is supposed to be an RA not a passive ability most classes get. Boats and griffins are not supposed to be in the game. Nor is spellcrafting and alchemy.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Do I even enjoy playing these games? Isn't it just the same damn thing painted a different way, maybe with a different shape every now and then? I find that I've had the most fun in online games when I am either playing with RL friends (which hasn't happened very often since high school) or if I feel like I'm somehow getting the upper hand over people. I believe the upper hand feeling is usually attributed to me being OP. Sometimes it is because people are simply stupid or nervous in a fight, but those don't feel as good. In Scoutzknivez it can feel really good though. However, it usually ends up ruining my own fun.

There are some players who are pretty damn good at Scoutzknivez. They join the server and see how many kills they can get before they die, sometimes they get in their 20s before it happens. What I like to do is lower their morale. Because it is such a real thing in games, it really is, I don't have any proof but I guarantee you it exists. Many people care about their kill:death ratio in CS, but CS is a random game, you can be awesome but a newb across the map can spray and kill you. That is just the way it is, and I have accepted that, unlike the majority of the players striving to be good. You will see people retrying a lot, because it resets their score. Some will even join the opposite team after retrying just so they can have a good score even though they're obviously stacking the team.

I don't get how they can lie to themselves into thinking they're better than they are, but I don't get a lot of things. Anyways, I like to kill these people. I make it my mission, because it can be pretty hard. Especially when you're almost always on the losing team, which means you're out of the door faster, which means the whole enemy team aims at you before they see your teammates. It can get tough, but that's how I like it. Usually when I kill them they have to say something, they have to, they can't not say something. It's funny because they'll even be better than me at times yet they will always say something when I kill them. It's basic psychology, they feel threatened, they're defending their pride or whatnot, I get it. But I also think it is funny.

Another part of that is my score. I'm usually showing more deaths than kills, yet I'll be the only person killing the best dude on the other team. They see my score and instantly say it was luck. Because how could someone with a score that bad kill them, amirite? Problem is (finaly the point) that they're sore losers. They'll quit, take their friends with them, and before I know it the server is empty save myself and a few newbs. So I kill my own fun.

Last week I was playing a lot more Scoutzknivez and the regular good people began to realize that I always do that (even though I've been playing there for 4-5 years and I've seen them all many times before). Then I began being a member of the stacked team. Why? Because they'd join my side. So I'd try switching sides when it became so obviously unfair, few rounds down the road and now the other team is quitting. Why? Because they switched to my effin team again. Some of them don't do that, some of them do it because they don't like me sneaking up on them and raping them, others because they like me. My favorite time is when the teams are fair, each having a few good guys, and if I still win. That's the money.

Anyways, that's about it for today. I'm considering a new blog for a new avenue of expression, but you know me, I do everything I plan on.

Life without quests

I started playing on a free DAoC server this weekend named Uthgard. It is billed as a "Classic" server meaning most of the newer expansions do not apply. Such as Trials of Atlantis and it's Master Levels along with Artifacts (which are the items you leveled up). It also excludes Darkness Rising and Labyrinth of the Minotaur, though you can use all of these clients to connect to the server. It is very close to the official Classic servers except that it lacks the Catacombs expansion which includes the underground capital cities and the task dungeons which make leveling so much easier. I do not yet know if the Shrouded Isles are supported, I know the client is not, but I've yet to venture to Nalliten and attempt to port over to Aegirham. I plan on doing this soon as SI has better drops if I recall correctly.

Most quests do not exist. The one quest in Vasudheim that did exist was... wait for it.... The Sveabone Hilt Sword quest! Huzzah! Everyone loves that quest. I believe you can request quests to be added on the forum, as well as items (presumably items that are supposed to be ingame), but I'm not about to request shit. I think my character may be bugged as I do not have an Epic quest from my class trainer, oh well. I haven't seen a quest in the last few levels either.

It is quite the eye opener, not having quests. I debated giving up very early on. I could not respec on demand so I couldn't fight the insect mobs due to using a sword which does not get pluses. I could have with a minute downtime in between mobs, but I wasn't about to accept that just yet. So I had to branch out from Mularn. I went to Vasudheim and rode down the road towards Audliten. Here I found the Sveawolf mothers that I remember grinding on many years ago, they conned blue and since they were animals my sword got bonuses each hit. At first when you see that one kill only gets you about 4 percent of a level it is a bit of a morale killer. However, once you start paying attention to the loot, start chaining mobs until you have a sliver of HP left before you rest, then you'll begin to notice that your xp bar moves along quite nicely.

I've rolled a troll skald and I'm currently using a 1h Sword/Shield (though Skalds cannot spec shield, it still blocks every now and then). I took a boat over to Fort Atla to attempt to continue a quest to no avail. From there I went to the beach with the wee wolves and Huldu, I killed many of them. I move a bit back to the Pine Imps that conned orange which I could solo, but soon moved beyond them to the road. Along the road I discovered Dryad Sprigs which dropped Engraved Bracelets that added 8 to hit points. Once I had two of these I went beyond the road to see the Svartalf camps, but the mobs still conned red and purple. So I boated back to Vasudheim. From here I ran towards Nisse's as I'd figured level 7 has to be close enough.

Before I made it there I ran into some Roaming Thralls which conned yellow and dropped rings that added +3 to con. I don't believe I attained two yet as they did not drop nearly as well as the bracers. I was basically taking a stroll down memory lane. This road with Tomte camps is a road I am terribly familiar with as I spent the majority of my first months subscription there. I wanted to check out the Silverscale drakelings but they were conning red as well. One of the tomte camps had a ton of green con Thugs and Scavengers which I killed a lot of, but watch out for those purple con mfkers right next to them! From there I swam out to the island which has the entrance to Nisse's on it. I found a bunch of green Thugs and yellow Skirmishers which I farmed until level 8. One of the Thugs dropped Pillager's Sleeves which friggin rule so much ass, something that hasn't happened in years. So here I am decked out in classic world drops and I'm excited about it. It is really a great feeling, like using a time machine.

I'm terribly excited to relive my past time in DAoC. I view it as having a second chance to reach level 50 without the increased XP gain that Catacombs gave me. I can't wait to get some more of that sweet ass Tomte loot yo!

Age Restrictions and Strict Entrance Policies in MMOs

If a new MMO or perhaps even a new server in your favorite MMO came out announcing that they only wanted to cater to mature adults by having a strict entrance exam, would you be interested?

Can you imagine a game like WoW without the dreaded "Barrens chat" or the Trade channel? Seems pretty good right? I thought you'd like that.

What if every game's servers were divided by age? What if each MMO had a long ass test you're required to take that gave you a mental age allowing you access to either adult and child servers or if you're immature just child servers?

What if all of the people who act so damn entitled to everything were on their own goddamn server? That would probably make you feel pretty damn good wouldn't it?

I bring up this topic (which I'm sure has been discussed elsewhere in great detail) because of the recent SWG CM fiasco along with Ixo's racist run in. Nobody wants to have to deal with shit like that. The SWG CM shouldn't have to pretty much be the teacher of a class of fuckwads. One wrong move and the kids go home to mommy who calls the principal and then you're in trouble because the kids are blatantly disrespectful due to their parents sucking ass. You try and instill some discipline and the kids feel like they're being attacked because they're so used to being coddled.

Which is almost the same reason kids think it is funny to be racist little fucks on the internet. Their parents aren't there. There are probably tens of thousands of teenagers raising each other on the internet. Their parents aren't talking to them about the ways you should act but online it is just one big fuckin party. I'll be the first to admit to being one of these kids. It was fucking sad the things I used to do to feel accepted by my peers online. It is the parents' fault for not being there just as much as it is the kids' fault for going along with it. You know it is wrong, but you're the majority, so you can somehow tell yourself that it is okay. Besides, it isn't like anyone is going to hunt you down and beat you up.

These kids aren't going to change unless they're shunned which is hard to do when they outnumber you, and that is usually the case (unless you're not playing WoW and a few others).

Why should your ignore list have to have 50 fuckin names on it? I don't think it should. Could you imagine a peaceful global chat experience in an MMO?

I once played on an RP UO shard where you had answer a questionnaire in character. I don't remember any of the BS we see today happen on that server.

So why can't we separate the players by age/maturity level? Because it would take too much time? Cost too much? Negative customer feedback? Discrimination? Who knows. But I think it would kick ass.

I came across these two love birds right outside of Bree in the middle of the road. Odd place for a picnic I'd say. I wonder if he actually opened his character sheet and chose to "hide" his cloak. What about the floor though? I mean she's sitting down but it's definitely going to look like the ground and not a cloak because you can't drop items on the ground in games anymore. DAoC is the last game I can think of that puts it's items on the ground. So they tried to RP but technically the game didn't even support it. Tough break Romeo.

I played quite a bit this weekend. Nevermind my Xfire, I turn that off sometimes. Mainly when I'm really stoned and feel like my internet is lagging, I'll close anything and everything. Steam? Fuck you, probably downloading some stupid old game update. Xfire? Let me guess, still automatically updating "insert game here that I used to play" even though I fucking disabled that shit. Turbine Download Manager? Nope, can't close that, the one program actually uploading shit, it might close my game! Can't risk trying, might have to log back in!

My Rune-keeper is now level 19. I began doing the Epic quest. I'm currently on I believe Chapter 11 of Book 1, which is the first group necessary quest in the chain (I believe). I tried to solo it though, because I didn't realize I had blown through the other Chapters that quickly. But now, I'm starting to think I'll just level way ahead and come back so I can solo it. But why Bonedead? Why oh why would you want to solo in such a group friendly game? Because I still hate people, I'm sorry.

I have 200/200 Apprentice Scholar on my Rune-keeper. I got Weaponsmith to 60 or so Apprentice. Which I have since abandoned. I needed Bronze bars, but I couldn't make them, so I bought 50 copper bars, whoops. So I spent all my money on Bronze bars and gear and twink gear. Whoops. So I rolled an Elf Champion for dual wielding badassery, and trained Two-handed weapons. Whoops. I then found a purple Spear assuming it was a two handed weapon (thanks DAoC!) and equipped it. Then I realized I had a low level sword in my off hand and checked my woodworking to see that I can make another spear for a simple 2 Rowan wood. So I go to find Rowan wood and then realize I probably can't gather it because I'm not a Forester.

So I ponder creating another alt to handle that profession. I do not. I quested out of the Dwarf starting lands and I'm now in Bree. It turns out I've done all of these quests before, so much for running into new content. I go to Trestleridge or whatever and gather quests. These quests are red yet I still attempt them. I almost complete two when I die to red orcs. I teleport to the Lone lands. I have done these quests before. I am almost finished with all of these quests, after which I intend to return to Thistleridge or whatever. After there I'll return to Bree and do that book shit.

I hate my Champion at first, because I wanted a class that can take multiple mobs at once, like a badass, and I get hurt a lot doing that. Heavy armor here I come! As soon as I do my Journeyman Scholar quest I can make better heal pots, and mail them to my champion!

I canceled my sub, so I don't get charged again while I'm too high to remember it's been a month. I could see myself going alt crazy for professions and being fine with that. I could see myself playing this game for a little while and not getting bored, though I already have gotten bored on more than one occasion. I made my Champion yesterday and was level 8 in one hour.

I like naming characters by following the rules at character creation screen. Because every combination of the provided prefixes and suffixes is taken, so you have to get creative. My champions name is Borabar, and I think that name is pretty sweet.

I've grouped three times. Once I didn't want to. Another time I didn't want to. The third time I wanted to, but just so I could kill the mob in 2 seconds and not get hate tells for not grouping before killing it. I disbanded immediately after, and the guy followed me. Why? Apparently he just wanted to say Good luck, aww, how sweet.

I wish I got more whacks at copper and tin deposits. I don't like using food but have started to more often. On my Rune-keeper I have two of the purple horn items that grant +10 radiance, on my Champion I have one and threw the other "this item starts a quest" item away. I hate how at level 15 your pocket item that increases your run speed must go bye bye. I like getting traits/deeds/titles.

I prefer farming humanoids as they have better loot tables. As soon as my Weaponsmith is Journeyman he can make a purple 2h axe recipe that I found, hopefully this happens when he is 16 so he can use it immediately. Hopefully the ingredients are crazy fuckin expensive.

Monster play is pretty lame. I got 2 deathblows I believe, which was pretty lame and stupid. More freeps enter the ettenmoors now than I've ever seen, and that makes dying easy. Respawning across the map is gay. Playing a gimped mob who has to team up with other gimped mobs is gay.

Fishing is pretty lame too. I'll get a bite and no matter how quickly I press the fishing button again, I can never make the animation look fluid. Ever. I always get a bite, my pole bends back to straight, and then I jerk it (little graphic, eh?). Because when I set the hook in a fish, my pole is always straight.

I've caught about 15 goldfish, 3 minnows, 20 weeds, and 2 broken daggers. I have about 8 fishing skill out of 200. I feel like I wasted a lot of time fishing.

People who play songs you know are fucking awesome. I was chillin at Thrasi's lodge when I saw a crowd start to gather around this dude wailin away on his Lute. I joined the crowd and began listening, trying to figure out what song is being played. This may lose me some man points but I don't care, I'll lose more shortly after. The song he was playing was Too Late by I think One Republic (whoever that is). You know the one, it's too late to apologize, it's too late (timbaland timbaland timbaland-- that's what he's saying right? who knows lol, definitely not saying too late). I showed Melanie and she thought it was pretty fuckin cool too.

Then she told me it isn't a Justim Timberlake song, and I felt gay and sad at the same time.

I've run into a few others playing at the Prancing Pony and didn't like a single one. Because they sucked at picking good music that wasn't some gospel choir song.

I plan on eventually playing cool music in public. Maybe find out how to do Benny Hill and just follow people around playing it. I fully intend to annoy people with my music.

I want to see shit from the movie already.

I forgot the story takes place during the movies (or the books for those anal fuckers just waiting to correct me).

I'm a bit disappointed that I left my Xfire off the whole weekend, because I played a fuckin lot-ro. Lol get it. Man I'm clever.

Let's stick with the first one. LotRO, Lord of the Rings Online. I recently won a free copy of the game courtesy of Kill Ten Rats (Clicky is that way--->). I haven't played the game since open beta. Now that I think of it though, I think I did. I think I did a free trial at one time, I mean, I pretty much had to. I'm sure if I go back a year in posts I will discover that I have, which I honestly forgot. I knew I leveled a Manstrel (man minstrel) to around 15 (and think I even started Book 1 or some crap like that) and also an Elfanger (elf ranger). I say I just realized this because I just figured out how to get MyLotro to work (hint: use your forum name/password) and saw that I had a 14 Guardian and a 50 Wolfman or something. No Manstrel nor Elfanger.

So I've got another account out there somewhere. Big whoop.

I downloaded the game on Sunday, intending on playing all day Monday, due to having the day off and such. I took a nap (read: smoked all day and it always catches up to me in the PM) and woke up at around 11 PM EST. I had about 20 minutes left on the download, awhellyeah! It finishes, starts installing, aaaand I hit my first snag. I need .Net Framework 1.1 or some shit. Turns out Vista doesn't "come" with it. Download that, install, retry. Okay that works, installation complete. Click play, type in my password, and click okay. Alright it opens up, resizes, and it's gone. Hmm, let's try that again. Click play (not an icon on my desktop or anything, noooo, we have to open the download manager and click play every time, joy), type in my password, and click okay. It opens again, resizes, again, and it doesn't disappear! Full screen mode is entered and the Moria loading screen comes up, huzzah!

Well shit. What class am I going to play? I remember the Minstrel being okay but not really for me. I like being the class that can do anything because it is overpowered. That's why I eventually made a Mauler in DAoC, why I liked Warlocks in WoW, and Witch Elf in WAR (and Structures Trader in SWG...). Anyways, I remember reading recently about the Rune-keeper being amazing. As in a group of them beat some crazy Turtle encounter in around a minute (and from what I understand Turtles are really hard in this game). So of course I made a Rune-keeper.

Dwarf Rune-keeper to be exact, named Thirmur. Why Thirmur you ask? Well when choosing my name I followed the rules so graciously bestowed upon me by the great LotRO gods themselves. If more games did that, more names would fit in the world, just sayin'.

I leveled to 7 and Dwalin (from The Hobbit, right? been quite a while for me) had one of those instanced, Travel Now, quests. But wait! Before I can continue with this quest, apparently I need to download the game... But wait, didn't I just do that? I quit the game, check out the download manager, and what dya know the fucker is downloading an 11GB file. Great. That should go over well with my 1.5 mb down DSL, yep. Oh well, I tweak my settings for downloading it, in an attempt to reduce download time as much as possible, I even open up a port. I go back in the game, get back on my Dorf and begin roaming the lands looking for a way out! Nope, not today sonny!

So I rolled a new guy. A Hobbit Burglar, because, well I don't know why, because it's what Frodo would've done? Hey what dya know, I've done all these quests before and I kind of remember that (the same happened for the Dorf but on a much smaller scale). I get to level 7 pretty quickly, maybe an hour, and I go back out of the game to check the download (hurray for alt+tab capability!). So in around an hour or two it has downloaded pretty much 1gb. That's not great, but it's something. I figure, if I go to sleep and wake up in 6-8 hours then I'll only have to wait a couple hours in the morning until I can resume play! I can easily play CS for 1 or 2 hours! So I go to bed.

The next morning my fiance is up and getting ready for work (haw haw, I don't have to) and I ask her to tell me how close it is before I even think about getting up. At this point I am not planning on taking her to work (we share a car) because I hate having to go pick her up after a day of weed and games. She says it has 1 hour and 7 minutes remaining. Alright! Then she says it has downloaded 2gb out of 11gb. Wait a second, that doesn't make sense. Upon further review the estimated time of download said one DAY seven hours remaining. Fuuuuck that shit. This is my last day of this weekend, and I'm fucking playing a game I haven't played in forever, and I'm going to fucking love it god damnit.

It is at this point when I realize what I must do. I must turn off my computer (rare occasion) and put it in my car. I must take Melanie to work. I must pick her up from work while not feeling up to it. Because I must take my computer to my work and take advantage of the FIOS goodness. So I drop her off, go to work, hook up my computer and begin the download. I also begin streaming the Fellowship of the Ring because that's how I roll. I then go to Burger King for some om nom nommin breakfast. I return to work and I have about 2 and a half hours on the download. I go home, take a shower, and begin streaming the Fellowship of the Ring on Melanie's computer. Because that's how I roll.

After my DSL fails at streaming and I've got some weed in me, I decide it is time to return to the office. My download has about 50 minutes remaining, awhellyeah! I continue watching the Fellowship for about 30 minutes and check the time again. 30 minutes left! Yay! I load up Steam and fire up CS. Wow, downloading LotRO, streaming Fellowship, and playing CS with a lower ping than I get at my house. Man I need FIOS. So I play some Gungame and surprisingly win and get accused of cheating in the same game, how great? I really need FIOS at home. Before I know it the download is complete and installed.

I fire the game up just to make sure it is done and there are no surprise patches or some shit. When I see Dwalin is willing to talk to me again I shut down, pack up, and head home. I almost stopped by Wendy's for a triple cheeseburger ketchup only with a medium fry and a large frosty, but I didn't because I am strong!

Anyways, I leveled and shit. I reached probably 11 and yesterday I made it to 13. I haven't had any problems fighting mobs, but I did die once and it made me feel bad. It was at that goblin place by Gondamon errr the place before it? The one where you attack 1 dourhand and he comes with 2 goblins then 3 goblins come out as well and rape rape rape. Yeah it never happened again, but it still happened. And now I don't get any more cool titles like The Wary or The Undefeated. Because I have been defeated. It is almost reason enough to reroll, but I shouldn't.

I am currently at Thrasi's lodge. I believe I will be moving forward soon to wherever is next. I remember being in this place and doing most of these quests still, but I cant wait for the new stuff I've yet to see. I think that is one of the biggest reasons I liked that UOWoW server, fast leveling, and thus seeing the new zones and beyond where I've been. I just like it.

I don't have shit to talk about really. I've been playing UO WoW for a little while and it is pretty fun. My Warlock is amazing. At level 64 I soloed a level 72 elite. Just yesterday I soloed an elite mob with 179k HP, no problem. The way to get gear on this server is to raid Silithus. They have created mobs that drop gladiator pvp gear and sprinkled them across the land. I think that when I'm 80 on my Warlock that I might be able to solo them, if things stay the way they are. The only way I could see this not being possible is if the mobs hit very hard. I do gain a lot of HP quickly and easily.

Yesterday I played my Shaman a bit, he's almost 70 now. He is pretty good, my only complaint is when I miss half of my swings for 10 seconds straight and my Windfury doesn't proc. But then there's the times when I hit everything and proc everything and every proc crits and the mobs dead in 2 seconds. I'm considering trying out a 2hander soon, only problem is that my talent spec needs points in the dual wield talents. If I find a way around it I'll definitely give it a shot. But, I already have a Gladiator 1h axe lined up to use, so maybe I wont.

I was playing my Priest yesterday, because after my Shaman I began moving from one to the other sporadically. I was fighting mobs and all of a sudden I'm flying across the screen. Fucking Death Knight! He was level 73 and I was 64. I just threw up a shield and put on the dots while using the mind flay. Then I began running out of range reapplying the dots. He was going down and he finally realized it. He turned to run back to Shattrath but didn't quite make it. You don't drop your loot until you release, and this guy wasn't dropping loot. So I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally I decided to send him a tell.

"Gimme your loot!" I said.
To which he responded "Kiss off".
I replied with "You're the one who tried to gank me, I'd say I earned it".
Then he tried to trick me by saying "have fun waiting, I'm going to play an alt".
But I know that if he logs out, he will probably drop loot. I wait some more and send him a tell just to check if he is online. Yep, still on.

I logged out and got on my Warlock. I rushed over there and he still hadn't released. I then decided to get on my rogue since he has stealth so the guy won't even see me. Unfortunately my Rogue was in Sholazar Basin near Avalanche and had a nice little run ahead of him. Oh and then the flight path at River's Heart didn't work so I hearthed. Short story even shorter, when I got there he had already released, looted, and went to play an alt.

I haven't had many PvP encounters. While my brother (80 Mage) was PLing me a little when I was in my 70s (and at Avalanche) I was stealthed next to him as he was healing. Then I see a Rogue sneak up behind him, so I Cheap Shot him, get a few combo points, Kidney Shot him, realize he's level 80 and I'm hardly hurting him as the stun wears off. As I get done lubing up for the rape I'm about to receive the guy RUNS AWAY. So that was funny.

I went to Avalanche on my Rogue recently looking for people to gank and loots to steal. On my way I ran into a Mage and a Paladin leveling up. Huzzah! I gank them and then receive a tell from the pally. Aren't we allied with your guild? Hahaha, shit. I haven't played my rogue very much and since hes the only one in the guild I am not up on the politics.

I'm pretty sure I'll be better off playing the Warlock as my main. I just love the class so much, due to it's overpoweredness. I remember 70-80 going much faster on my rogue, which I believe is why I've caught this altitis.

Free Realms - Still no working Leaderboards

I know what you're thinking. Bonedead, big bad Bonedead, bitching about a kids game. Well I don't care damnit, I am capable of beating these kids, and damn it, I paid to be able to!

I submitted a ticket to customer service explaining my disappointment in the Leaderboards functionality, or lack thereof.

Here is what I said:

I'm pretty sure I should be #1 on the Hack n Slash mini game (Sword Testing) Leaderboard. I have beaten the current high score twice and have screenshots on my blog. I would also like to point out that on the Time section of the Hack n Slash (Sword Testing) Leaderboard there are a ton of people with the time of 31 seconds. I believe they failed the mini game in 31 seconds, but I highly doubt they completed it in 31 seconds, because if they did they would be #1 on the Score Leaderboard for the mini game.

Okay. First off, I got my first high score before May 1st. Today is the 14th, so I'm not 100% sold on the whole, every couple of days thing.

However, he is right, my stats did increase as I noted here. However, I am almost positive my current high score (as shown on leaderboards) was attained after beating the current highest score of all players.

I scored higher than the current high score before May 1st. I have since beaten it multiple more times. Just yesterday, I created a video of me getting my highest score yet which I intend to upload to my blog sometime soon (after I reduce the size). I have noticed that since submitting this ticket I no longer have access to the Leaderboards. If that means it is being worked on, great, but I will be rather disappointed if my scores have not been logged. I've noticed that for the Hack n Slash game, the faster your time, the higher your score. Since I have attained the highest score (that I'm aware of) yet, I know that the fastest you could possibly complete the game in is above 40 seconds. Yet the first page or two of the Time Leaderboard is filled with players with 31 seconds.

I haven't played this game for around a week (minus yesterday) simply because I cannot climb the leaderboards.

Since I cannot access the Leaderboards (this is day two of no access) I still consider this issue unresolved.

I threw in that last tidbit because their emails say if I do not respond in 72 hours that the issues would be updated to resolved, and the end of today would be 72 hours.

But yeah, yesterday I decided I would record me beating the current high score. Well, I managed to beat my previous highest score of 21,790 with a 21,8something. I have a feeling I could break 22k if I played it some more.

I'm just curious if I am the only one who cannot access the leaderboards or if they are down for everyone. Because they were up until I got a response to my ticket.

Also, there is no mention of this Leaderboard downtime on the Announcements Forum.

While looking through the announcements forum I came across the most recent (May 11th) patch notes. One fix caught my eye.

* At the end of a kart race, Portraits, Total Time and Placement now appear properly

If you go back a page you'll see my screenshot pointing that one out.

I just want leaderboards to work, that is it. If you're going to advertise it as a feature then you should probably feature it in your game.

Another thing that chaps my ass is that if you search FreeRealms support for "leaderboards" there is only one question, located here.

Can I see my score and compare it to other players?
On the Leaderboards you can check your scores. If you are a member, your score will be posted for everyone to see. If you are not a member, only you can see you scores. But your scores will be saved if you become a member later. You can also check a game's High Scores from the mini-game start window.

Yep, today's pipe dream is inspired by the whole Darkfall debacle.

This is what you do, you review every MMO twice. One review is written by someone who loves the game and wants everyone else to play it. The other review is written by someone who is embarrassed to admit they're even playing the game and would like to save the world from it's crappiness.

Here's my reasoning.

When was the last time you were excited about a game coming out? Let's act like WoW is coming out soon for the first time ever. You've heard a little buzz, you know Blizzard doesn't fuck around, and you love love love Warcraft 3. You start looking around for reviews or previews or forum posts of excitement. Because you want to be excited, amirite? I mean come on, how long has it been since you've wanted to play a game this bad, amirite?

For the most part people know whether or not they want to play a game without reading reviews. If you don't agree with that then you're a part of the problem. You cannot just sit back and wait for everyone to bring everything to you, great king, before you make your decision. That is fucking stupid. You know what you like in a game and it is very easy to find out what intended aspects of a new game interest you. If you can't do that much work and just want to rely on some big website to tell you what to do then I'm sorry but you're worthless to the MMO community that cares about itself.

If we had a website that didn't release a single review for a game until it had a positive and a negative one then you've got something for everyone. Now you just need to develop two characters that anyone can enjoy. We have Carl the Carebear and Peter the PKer. You can't make this stuff up (unless you're me).

So you go there and click on World of Warcraft. You're then faced with 2 pictures. One of Carl all carebeared up and one of Peter eating a baby or something. You're asked to pick your playstyle judging by the picture. You've got to make Peter really grotesque so that you get your point across, and also make Carl a little girly man if you know what I mean.

Haven't been on the Free Realms website much recently, but I decided to check it a few seconds ago. It turns out they kind of updated the leaderboards a bit. Problem is, they updated it with data from a week ago and they haven't fixed the whole, "I quit the mini game early and am counted as finishing it in 30 seconds even though that isn't fucking possible" thing. But hey, I'm ranked 22 now! My favorite part is how everytime I try and look at the leaderboards for myself and Sword Testing the shit starts breaking. It's like they know.

For instance, I saw I was ranked 22 on My Leaderboard. I clicked to see if the rest of the peoples scores updated as well and they had not. The score they have on file for me now is in the 18000s, but as you can see from my screenshot (a score which I have since beaten) I scored much higher than that. Anyways, so I wanted to get a screenshot of the whole, 22nd place thing to show you. So I go back to My Leaderboard and what do I see?

Okay, well what about if we check the Sword Testing Leaderboard?

Well how about actually looking at the Score and Time Leaderboards individually?

But don't take my word for it, go check for yourself. Remember, this is only one game's leaderboards (and my personal leaderboard). Go look at mining. Look at Kart Racing (which I've NEVER gotten a score from doing, even when racing real people).

Now I can understand a shitty argument being along the lines of, "Well it is more of a family oriented kid's game, it isn't about who is the best or competing but about having fun. Therefore we don't consider the leaderboards as a top priority item. I can understand that. But if that is the case, then don't fucking say you can see yourself on the leaderboards, have links to the leaderboards, or have a whole leaderboard dedicated to ME. I'm just sayin.

Seeing that I'm ranked 603 on monsters killed kind of makes me want to wtf rape that one next. Wanna know how? It's gonna be real easy. See I'll go to the Cellar dungeon as a level 8+ Brawler or 3+ Warrior and wtf rape newb level mobs all day. Fair? Not really. Pwnzor? Most definitely. I'd like to clarify that something like that is not possible on the Hack n Slash game, that shit is just hard.

I think one of the main reasons I am tired of it is because it makes me angry, it makes me want to pick a side and start taking shots at people. I don't want to do that, damnit, and I don't want to have to stop reading about MMOs either.

Every fucking thing that is opinion based has become a fucking team sport. Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians. Why the fuck do we need all of this separation? Why are we constantly trying to divide ourselves?

As much as you want to be unique and stand out from others, you're just blending in with your "team".

The most prominent example of this from the MMO world that I can offer involves Darkfall and what seems like every MMO gamer. Among the Pro-Darkfall crowd it was cool to hate WoW. Among the Pro-WoW crowd it was cool to hate Darkfall. It still is. I was a part of it and looking back I feel like a real jackass.

It also goes hand in hand with blogging. Why?

Because people are figuring out that if you post something controversial (like say, WoW sucks, Darkfall owns it) it will start a shit storm of traffic to your blog and get the whole community going.

It reminds me a lot of mainstream media today. Only bad things, shocking things, absurd things, and things that contain strong support for our team! It's getting old people.

If you think about it, there really isn't anything to blog about when it comes to MMOs. It is all drama and gossip and blown way out of proportion sneak previews and shit.

Everyone cares about shit being EPIC and THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT and stupid EXTRAVAGANT AMAZING EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PREVIEW EXTRAVAGANZA.

Well, I've been playing the UOWoW.com server for a few days. I have played a little Free Realms but there really hasn't been any incentive since it is a broken fucking dickface. The leaderboards are STILL not updated, they haven't changed since the first time I ever looked at them a week ago.

Kart Driver and Demo Derby Driver do not gain experience. Nobody knows if this is intended or not because SOE doesn't tell anyone shit. It is just too shitty right now to get into because every problem I run into, when I search the support base or the forums, nobody has said anything about it save for a few players who have run into the same problems. I figured that I couldn't be that amazing at the Hack n Slash game so I got an even higher score of 21720 or something like that. My fastest time is 43 seconds I believe.

I've heard complaints of leaderboards for time (it takes to complete a mini game) being messed up. If someone quits before the game is over, that time gets saved as their fastest time, and it gets displayed on the leaderboard. Failzor!

So, I haven't been playing much Free Realms. However, my fiance tried it out yesterday, and 5 hours later she was paying for it. Now I'm pretty sure she loves it (though I suspect she will burn out soon). I believe she got a Miner to level 9 or so.

As for UOWoW.com, that shit is pretty cool. The server resets a lot, but it doesn't take but a minute to restart, and when you log back in the field of corpses you logged out in is now a field of mobs. I am level 42 already, yep, that's fuckin right. Level 42 in a couple days, huzzah! 10x exp is friggin great, plus the green and blue drop rates increase, add that in with the fact that people drop lewtz.

I've died 3 times to players I believe, 4 if you count a group of 3 killing me twice. The first time was a level ?? one shotting me in Stormwind. The second time was a 43 Rogue in the Deadmines while I was 36, I didn't attack him when I found him, yet he attacked me when he saw me, when I came back I raped his face for being a stupid Rogue. Then I was out in I think Tanaris? Wherever Gadgetzan is. I went through the tunnel and into Pirate land, where I was jumped by 3 guys my level.

I need to bind my bottom left action bar to alt+1-2-3-4 etc, so I can get to my Death Coil easier. I doubt I could've taken the 3 guys as they were all my level, but I really think I could get 2/3 if I got the jump on them and played my shit like a pro. I've done shit like that before because I'm awesome like that. Shit, I killed a ?? Warrior in STV (in real WoW) when I was in my 40s. I just dotted him up and tried to keep him feared while launching my instant shadow bolts whenever Nightfall procced. It got to the point where I used Unending Breath and just started swimming down, after a while he just died. Good stuff.

The players are fucking annoying. It seems just like a regular WoW server because all they do is bitch bitch bitch. They don't understand that they're basically playing in Beta and that there is basically only 1 dev, who actually responds to players in world chat. Yet everyone and their mother is so goddamn entitled to speak their mind about how this one stupid skill doesn't work and how on real WoW servers you can do this and this. Oh my goodness, I have to submit a ticket for my problem? OMG! What kind of barbaric world is this? I can't stand them!

I actually was lucky enough to run across one of the whiners in STV. I dotted him up and sent him a running with fear. He used his ice cage thing (mage) and said "Seriously?", because he conned green to me, I didn't say anything and just spirit tapped and drained life as soon as his ice thing wore off. Aaaaand you're dead! I was mainly pissed because I figured most of the whiners were level 70-80 and lost things that mattered a bit more, but this guy was green to me, just shut the fuck up and level. The best part was he dropped his Hearthstone as loot! I didn't even know that was possible. Anyways, I found him again to give him his Hearthstone back because I'm such a nice guy, and he says "What, you can only kill me when I'm fighting mobs?" as we're running into the safety of the guards in Booty Bay. I said, actually, I'm trying to give you your hearthstone back, newb!

I also got his staff, but I said he doesn't get that back because it sucked. What kind of mage uses a +6 agi +6 spirit staff? Seriously?

Since loot drops are through the roof, cloth drops are as well, therefore, I am a tailor! Turns out tailors need leather from time to time so I took up skinning and raised it to 190 in a couple hours, which was gay, because I wasn't getting XP. But now I've got a ton of Heavy Leather for making Silk Bags (10 slot) which I can sell for 75 silver a pop on the AH.

My brother is playing with me, as well as 4 from PKer.org, and it seems like it could be a real fun end game. My brother was skeptical at first due to increased XP. He has played a few free servers before I guess and they always make him resub to the real thing because of how crappy they are. But he says this one is different. It even feels a lot like Athlore he says, which is the free UO shard we played on.

So that is about it!

I'm updating from work, if I was at home I would have uploaded a few Free Realms screenshots. One being of my new high score in Hack n Slash and the other being the end of a race I did which said I got 2nd place but then ranked me as 1st place on the final tally. Workin real good aren't we Free Realms? I want you to be good, but you're sucking too much right now!

UPDATE Well shit. In order to be ranked I need to be a member. I will be #1, I just gotta put some money on the fiance's debit/credit card, may as well get some station cash while I'm at it. I'd say Free Realms could make some money. It is a lot like an arcade.

Well I've played it some and I've got to say I'm sold. They really put a lot of thought into this game. It feels like I'm playing at an arcade, but it is also like I am playing in an arcade. I've only got a level or two on Brawler and I think I'm going to be in first place on the Hack n Slash mini game. Why do I think this?

Well, yesterday after playing I was ranked 48 with a score of 17500ish, my time of 1:44 (I think) was ranked 200ish. I noticed that the guy in first place had a little over 20k, maybe 21k, I'm not certain (the website is currently undergoing maintenance so I cannot check). This morning I played it about 20 times and I pretty much have to be in first place in both time and score. If not, I'm definitely in the top 10.

Syncaine, if you read this, I think Free Realms is going for longevity to make money. Look at how many people play Runescape. This game is so much better than that one, it is like the WoW of those games, it will be around for a long time. Methinks SOE wanted to plant an economic seed for these tough times, and I think they made a wise decision.

New frontiers for griefing

Ever wish you could go play UO and find some clueless newb to trick into screwing himself over? Ahh, those were the good old days (when I was the newb too!). What can you do nowadays to grief people? Well, you could've played Darkfall when it released, but by now I don't think there are too many clueless people left. You can play any FPS (or any game for that matter) that has voice chat and group with as many people as you can, just waiting for that little kid with his squeaky voice, then make fun of him for it (but that will only be funny for a couple of seconds until you realize that you're a dickface). Yep, there are not many options out there for griefing. You could spend a long fuckin time in EVE establishing yourself and it would still pretty much all boil down to tricking someone into trusting you.

Well my friends, you no longer have to yell inappropriate phrases and/or odd noises at people on the sidewalk as you drive by, for now there is Omegle.

What is Omegle? Omegle is pretty much just a 1v1 chatroom creator dealy. You go to the website, click start conversation, and you're instantly connected with a stranger. The stranger's name appears as, you guessed it, Stranger! You can disconnect from the conversation at any time and reconnect to a new one. It really is a neat idea and you can have some long and enjoyable conversations with a complete stranger.

Personally I have only had 2 good conversations out of probably 15. One was with an Italian fellow who was mapping the genome for wheat (or something like that). Another was with a Canadian who hates people as much as I do and smokes weed (we got along great!).

However, there are a fuckton of weirdos. For instance, one guy asked me if I wanted to have sex. I told him only if he was a transgendered 8 year old. He said, well maybe I am, and I said well then maybe I'm a dude. Upon learning I was a male he disconnected. Normal as shit if you ask me.

Most people you'll run into will remind you of AOL back in the day. ASL? M or F? Oh and since they're strangers, they probably won't like you, so remember that.

If you visit during the work day, be prepared for a lot of kids. Yesterday I had the pleasure of talking to probably 4 kids between 15-17, and when I say pleasure, I mean damn I am sorry to a lot of people that I talked to on the internet when I was younger.

The best conversation I had, oddly enough, I began by saying: "Hey baby you ever have your asshole licked by a fat man in an overcoat?" (Jay & Silent Bob fyizzle) It is an odd game, probably because it isn't a game.

But, if you play it like a game, and seriously try to have a conversation for over 5 minutes with each random person you're paired up with, you will lose. You simply cannot please everyone conversationally. Most people will say Hi, but then it'll go quiet and you have to just start quizzing them basically. It gets old quick, but if you're lucky enough to run into someone that you click with, you will see the awesomeness of the idea.

Most of the people I talked to were from Europe, one Brazil, a Canadian, and surprisingly only one American (from Texas). The one american pissed me off lol. He was 16 and from Texas. He plays Counter Strike and we were talking about it for a little while, then in the middle of the conversation he just disconnected, fuckin asshole! My guess is his teacher walked up on him, or he fucking hates me and I'm a horrible person! Lol.

Anyways, you can have fun with it by just talking a bunch of dumb shit and seeing how long they'll stick around.

Free Realms
I have yet to play any Free Realms. Fiance fucking ruined everything by being a stupid fuckin drunk that enjoys stupid ass tv shows. I played a few seconds of the tutorial this morning, it looked nice, and it seems like it will be fun. I am not aware yet of any possible ways to grief people, but I'll figure something out!

My name Wener Indamouf got denied, go figure! Now I am stuck with Richard Smallpiper, lol, get it, Dick SmallDick. Yeah, aren't I so clever.

Alright, where do we start? I know, ANGER ANGER WILL ROBINSON, ANGER! I'm guilty of everything I'm about to talk about. Everyone is fucking angry at someone, in MMO land, that is (probably IRL too, but who cares about that, amirite?). People who play WoW hate everyone who doesn't, people who play DF hate everyone else, people who play EVE think everyone else is crazy, and those crazy ATitD players don't even know everyone else exists! Well that last one doesn't matter, but you get the idea. Now don't get me wrong, I love Syncaine, but man is he angry sometimes. I half suspect that it is a bit of RP, but still, damn. Just go around and look through comments. People get so mad at others because they misinterpret what was said, or sometimes, inject some of their own thoughts into someone else's. Again, I am guilty of this. It's just fucked up.

Free Realms! Man did this one slip under my radar or what? I actually remember some old people bloggers talking about taking the whole family there when it comes out etc, but aside from that I completely forgot about it. My fiance plays Pogo a bit and though I've tried to get her to play MMOs the only one she could stomach was WoW and she didn't make it passed level 10. This morning I showed her some of the trailers for Free Realms and I'm pretty sure she was sold on the puppies. Hooray for cute puppies! I'm kind of excited to get home and fire this up (while subsequently firing something else up, teehee!). I've got a good feeling she'll join me without resisting, but ya never know.

I'm immature as shit and I'm pretty sure that is why some people are completely turned off by some of the things I say. When I'm thinking of my words I always find myself trying to make myself laugh. If it makes me laugh, it almost has to make you laugh, but if it doesn't you will still laugh at me because I'm laughing at myself. Yeah, that's right. I like being immature, it is my favorite genre of comedy, it is the genre where I excel. I understand that if I acted more mature my chances of making friends and having conversations about things besides wieners and butts will go up, but I'm fucking 22 man. I'm still young and I want to be young for as long as I can. I used to want to be so old, I wanted to skip 20-30 years of my life and jump straight into being old. That is pretty dumb. I am going bald though (and I'm not fighting it like a pussy!), which kind of sucks. Anyways, being immature is still funny to me, so fuck you.

Someone commented on one of Syncaine's posts about how Keen is a tourist. Well, I am a tourist too! I play so many MMOs, but I always get tired of them pretty quickly, and I move on to the next one. I've been doing this for a very fucking long time, very gdamn long. I haven't played one game for longer than 2 months straight besides FPS games or maybe Diablo 2 back in the day. That is just who I am. I honestly can't imagine what it is like to play the same game for 6 months. How do you come home everyday and think: "Alright! Let's jump back into this same fuckin thing I've been doing the last 5 months! Something different will happen this time!" I have no idea. Therefor, I am a tourist, but I don't ruin games with my tourism (lol@WoW Tourists).

Am I special or delusional? I've said before in another post that I've thought I was living in a Truman Show type world a few times. It is probably because of some emotional/mental problems coupled with my extreme pothead paranoia. But anyways, I'm wondering if this is another case of that. So I heard about this on Massively and since I've been tiring in AO, so I figured, maybe I'll give it a go. The only problem is, I never actually paid for LotRO. I did the free trial exactly two years ago, but I wonder if I'll be able to download/log in. Who knows (probably can't).

Anyways, as you can see, my free trial ended exactly two years ago. The welcome back week begins tomorrow. I'm going to remote to my home pc and start downloading (if I can), hopefully it will be done or close to it by the time I get home (never under estimate the power of DSL!).

If I can't play, who knows, I might just buy it finally. Maybe not though, maybe I'll buy Conan since I haven't played that, even in a trial. I've been saving money like a good little boy, it's time to splurge a little.

Henry is an elephant that can fly. He isn't like Dumbo though, he doesn't use his ears because that isn't possible. He uses a jet pack! You may be wondering, Bonedead, what the hell is an elephant doing with a jet pack when I don't even have a jet pack? Well ya see, this is a special elephant, because he can talk. Well why can the elephant talk? Because he evolved bitch! Shut the hell up and listen to mah storeh!

So one day Henry was cruisin along the tree top canopies in some exotic ass rainforest in the mofuggin jungle (forest jungle mofugga!) on his way to visit his best friend, Dr. Mr. Dolphinface. Why is he a Doctor Mister, Mr. Bonedead? Because he got a doctorate degree in something and now he has the power, now shut the fuck up! Anyway, Dr. Mr. Dolphinface wasn't a doctor of medicine, he received an honorary doctorate for his work in constructing a jet pack that works and fits an elephant. Not only that but he taught a damn elephant how to talk and then explained how to use a jet pack!

As Henry is flying over the canopies he notices below him there are swarms of monkeys and apes following him. He figures maybe it is just a coincidence and returns his attention to the sky. Ya see Henry was very fond of the sky, though that wasn't always the case. Back when he walked around everywhere he had too much to worry about and focus on that was on the ground. He didn't have time to look up and during long treks he didn't have the strength to look up. Most of Henry's life prior to being a jet pack wielding talking elephant involved long arduous walks across barren deserts and dry jungle. But now, now he could get where he needed to be with hardly any effort. If he gets too hot he just flies higher!

Henry was due for a refueling and a general check up, though Dr. Mr. Dolphinface was not an elephant doctor. But since Henry could talk he was able to help him. While staring at the clouds Henry spotted a small airplane. Airplanes were nothing new to Henry, in fact, most were chartered to find him flying for tourists to see. This didn't bother Henry, because he was free to do as he pleased, and he enjoyed the company and the new faces. However, today Henry did not have time to spend with the tourists, for check ups and refuelings are no joking matter to an elephant with a jet pack.

Of course, tourists pay a lot of money to charter a plane over a rainforest jungle thing to search for an elephant with a jet pack and they will not give up easily. Over the years Henry has learned the lay of the land quite well, especially with his ability to speak, he was able to acquire large maps of the area courtesy of Dr. Mr. Dolphinface. This meant he knew where the country borders were, since this story takes place in a jungle rainforest, it is a safe assumption that in this area of the world the countries don't get along with each other very well. Which means all that Henry had to do was cross over into another country and fly a bit lower than usual, so that's what he did.

As he began to lower his altitude he looked down and noticed there was still a large amount of primates following him in the trees, and he turned his focus on them now. From his lifetime in the wild Henry learned that there is usually a dominant male leader for most animal families and groups. Henry began scanning the front of the pack looking for this dominant male primate, who he would undoubtedly have to direct his attention to were a meeting to take place between himself and the primates. He began to go faster trying to catch up to the head of the pack when all of a sudden the primates disappeared and the trees stopped moving. In fact the whole forest rainjungle was almost completely silent except for a small humming noise that was slowly growing louder.

This made Henry feel extremely uneasy so he ducked his head down and barreled on towards the Docs house. He was flying in what could be described as a trench among the tree tops, there was something about having trees around you that would calm Henry down. Henry began to feel more relaxed, he was breathing easier and his legs weren't as tense. He began looking at the canopies below him for small reservoirs of water and eventually came across one. He slurped it up in one try and gulped it down, it was very refreshing. He went a few trees down and found another, this one he sucked in and squirted onto his back, which was also very refreshing. He found one more, he drank half of it and dumped the other half on the top of his head. Henry was very refreshed, he was calm again, and he had lost the tourists.

He began on his way again, it was along trek but hardly as tough as they used to be, if he were to have tried this trek without the jet pack he would have surely perished. A breeze began to flow by him and through the trees around him, making a smooth rustling sound all around him. It was at this moment that Henry heard a very strong noise to his right, as he looked over he could see who he believed to be the dominant male primate. He was obviously aged a bit, but not frail, very much strong and very much in charge. His hair was gray which automatically made him stand out amongst the other primates who were primarily black, brown, and light brown in color. His face was the most horrid thing Henry had ever seen. It seemed white and crusty. As if he had died long ago and came back to life, it was very weathered.

The primate hugged the tree with his legs and motioned by swinging his arms in Henry's direction while howling menacingly. The trees all around Henry began shaking and he slightly increased his altitude while looking below him to see what was coming. He was now emerging from his trench in the canopies and his pursuers were becoming more and more visible. Hundreds of monkeys and apes rushed up after Henry, some began leaping at him, and one small monkey managed to grab on to Henry and climb on his back. He increased his altitude to stay out of range of the others, who were now standing on top of the canopies barking and howling at him, it was now clear to Henry that he was being hunted. The monkey on his back began gnawing on his ears which made the ones below grow even louder and more enraged.

Henry swatted at the little monkey with his trunk, missing, again and again he swatted and grabbed for the monkey but kept missing. He then began going straight up with his jet pack, high into the sky, so high that when he looked down the massive mob of monkeys now seemed rather small. He flipped upside down and began to free fall. The monkey on his head was now biting harder but less often, he was losing his grip and dangling from Henry's head. Henry grabbed again and this time he got the little bastard! He held the monkey tightly and began flipping himself back over as the mob of monkeys below again appeared massive.

Once right side up with monkey in grasp Henry hovered above the mob who was now extremely furious as he had their friend in his clutches. The leader emerged and the mob went silent almost immediately. Henry stared at his deformed face in disgust, this was without a doubt the ugliest primate he had ever seen. The primate leader motioned to Henry, what Henry assumed meant "Give him back". Henry was not going to be bullied and needed to let these primates know that he was the king of the jungle rainforest as far as they were concerned. So he took the monkey and held it up to his jet packs propulsion systems, where half of it instantly disintegrated. He looked at the remains and felt sadness, this was not Henry's way, he was better than this.

When he looked at the primate leader he noticed it's mouth was wide open in shock. The primates had never seen such destruction before and were left in awe. Henry threw what was left of the corpse at the alpha male, hitting him square in the chest, and it fell to his feet. The primate examined the body, his face regained it's composure, it's intensity. The hairs began to stand up on it's body as it looked at Henry. The leader flung the corpse off into the trees and roared at Henry so fiercely that it startled the mob of primates around him.

He began squawking rapidly and moving his arms and his followers began to react. They began bunching up together and climbing on top of each other. Henry knew he had to start moving and fast as he saw the leader began charging up the mountain of monkeys, heading straight for Henry. The terror that was his face slowed Henry's reaction time, it was as if he forgot how to fly. He was frozen, completely frightened, and then came a loud roaring. The noise became louder and louder, it immobilized Henry even more and caused some of the monkeys to flee from the pile, which slowed the primate leader.

As the leader reached the top of the primates he leaped with all of his might, arms outstretched towards Henry, mouth wide open ready to rip and tear. He was so close now that Henry had given up, he would be swarmed by these primates and killed. It was at this moment that the roaring revealed itself. An airplane flew directly overhead, it had a hook dangling from it which appeared to be magnetic as it honed in on Henry's jet pack and hooked onto it flawlessly. As the primate was about to strike, Henry was tugged away by the plane, and the primate fell into the canopies below. As Henry watched he saw the leader began tearing apart those who fled the pile and flinging their intestines all over the place. He stared up at Henry and let out one last roar. Henry was saved.

Anarchy Online, still goin strong

From discovering preferred weapons to use after your upgraded newb weapons and getting the same fun/newb feeling that you had so many years ago, to using implants to your advantage, to spending your IP (skill points) wisely, to double boxing (on one box), to FUN! I had a very interesting and fun filled weekend with Anarchy Online which I intend to expand on and share with you! Sit back and enjoy the ride!

Newb Island
When you start a new character in Anarchy Online you arrive on an island (and we shall call it, this land!) dubbed newb island. There are some starter quests to familiarize you with the game and get you the basic equipment needed including armor, weapons, a belt with some memory, joining a side, and some beginner nano programs for your profession.

One of the things you might realize while here (after you've just about done everything) is that there are 7 or so boss mobs who are relatively easy to kill and drop some fancy jewels. Most notably are the XP and damage add rings, however there are plenty of other rings with no bonuses that sell for a lot as well. The damage rings are usually +1 but on occasion there will be a +2. You can make loops around the island killing all of these bosses and just picking up the rings and gems/stones (leave the gear as it doesn't sell nearly as well and other newbs might be able to use it). Once you have a full bag (and full carried bag) you can sell and make a small fortune. This can help you buy your nano programs or those cool sunglasses from your faction's vendor.

There are also Alien mobs in the upper middle of the island (with their own boss) but I haven't stuck around to kill too many of them (including the boss) due to their level being much higher and the weapon loot requiring the Alien Invasion expansion.

Make sure to upgrade your weapon as soon as you can and don't forget to before you leave!

Preferred Weapons
This was my favorite discovery. What do you do when you've leveled a few times in any MMO? One of the first things you ever want to do in an MMO? Get a new stronger better weapon of course! Usually you would look at your minimum and max damage, figure in the attack speed, range if it matters etc, and you arrive at having a good idea of what you're looking for. It's the same thing in AO, except there are literally way too many weapons to know them all (not really, but it seems like it). The difference in AO compared to say, WoW, is that there isn't a WoWhead or a Thottbot to look up what you want. So you've got to Google, old school style! I happened upon a few guides and a wiki pertaining to AO in general and specific professions as well. Usually weapons are covered in these guides but if they're not, for example if you're at a Fixer guide without any weapon recommendations and are wondering about Rifles, you could check out other profession guides that do list recommended Rifles.

The first preferred weapon I was to discover was the Division 9 Plasmaprojector for my Soldier. If you remember Bardiches in Diablo 2, this gun is similar in that the minimum damage is 1 and the maximum is say 80. Now you may be thinking, "but what if I hit for 1 damage three times in a row? That has got to be bad, right?" Well while that could happen, it usually doesn't. What does happen is that you hit somewhere in the middle a lot, which is a decent amount of damage on a semi constant basis.

So I knew what I wanted now it was time to figure out how to get it. A good place to find this information is AUNO, a website filled with tons of Anarchy Online knowledge (and one of the few AO websites still up and running). Just search for the item you're looking for and hopefully somebody commented on where to get it, if not, you may be looking for the wrong weapon (since the popularly accepted ones have gotten a comment over the years).

For the Div 9 Plasmaprojector I found out that I needed to kill Dyna bosses or Team Mission bosses for it, that it was a random (not rare) drop on these boss mobs. Team Missions was out for me so I Googled Dyna bosses trying to figure out what the heck I was looking for. The first site I found said something about them being in the old Backyards, which I remembered (as they were the original newb zones), but had forgotten how to actually get to. Turns out (for Omni faction players) all you have to do is walk in one of the doors (strewn across town, near mission doors) that says High Rise at the top.

So I go into the backyard door and load into a zone that appears to be on the top of a building. Pretty cool, I thought, though I did not recognize this area at all. I checked the only door I could find and stumbled upon what appears to be my apartment! Great, now I have an apartment key taking up a space in my inventory. I go back out and see a blueish entry way with the words HOLO WORLD written across the top. I figured what the hell and walked in. Ahh! Now I remember! I loaded into a real backyard, just like where I spent a lot of time on my original characters (when the game first came out). It was quite a trip down memory lane with all the leets and reets and such, not to mention the "Take me to the shop!" chips they would drop frequently that sell for 200 credits (farming greys, woot woot!). But after a little money gathering I remembered my reason for being here, to kill the Boss, to get the loots!

In the back of the backyard (back back back)I found the boss (across the bridge behind the trees!), he was gray in nature and fell easily under my upgraded newb rifle. The loot... which there was about 7 or 8 random pieces of, was Quality Level (QL) 6-10. I was level 15 or so at the time and this low QL was not very enticing. I figured, what do I know, maybe it'll be better even if it is QL10. I waited for the respawn and killed him again, nope, nothing. At this point I figure, well there are higher QL versions of the gun, it can't just be QL10, so I make my way back to Google and resume the search on Dyna bosses.

That is when I found the Leets Online website. If you click on say Omni Forest, you see a Map with some markings on it. More importantly, if you scroll down, you see a table that lists Dyna Camps! These are the camps where the Dyna Bosses are!

So I made my way to the Omni Forest (from Rome Blue -> Rome Green -> Whompah to Entertainment -> follow the signs outside) and then realized, shit, how the hell do I read these coordinates? I didn't see any on my map, but once I opened my mini map (using the map button on the bottom right side) and hovered my mouse over it (while not moving) I began to see similar coordinates. The way it works is obvious and simple, you get two coordinates and X and a Y, it's just like the graphs you learned to plot in elementary (middle for some) school. The first number is your X (left to right on your mini map) and the second number is your Y (top to bottom on your mini map).

Killing these solo was quite difficult, as I had to kite some of them across the whole damn forest. If the Boss cons green to you and his minions con gray, the minions will not add on you. If the minions are not gray, they will add, so be careful! Sometimes it is best to focus on the minions first while kiting so you can get the boss alone, however, running too long or too far will cause them all to give up and turn around. Sometimes you can fight just the boss when this happens, sometimes you've got to follow it all the way back and then fight just the boss (because the minions are lost in the forest). Either way, I killed roughly 20 of these bosses and didn't get one Div 9 Plasmaprojector, bummer!

I was a bit fed up with this nonsense, having run across the damn world killing tons of boss mobs solo, I was now level 17. I was toying with the idea of logging in my 2nd account and grouping with my soldier just so he could get a team mission and go solo it. So I typed /tell helpbot level 17. Helpbot let me know what level ranges I could team with and saw that the lowest was level 13. On my other account I had a level 11 Bureaucrat, so I opened him up and solo'd him to 13.

I grouped them up and grabbed a mission. I began working on the mission alone on my Soldier before I realized a few things. One, my computer wasn't having any trouble running two instances of AO. Two, I would outlevel my level 13 and would have to solo him again to group more if needed. So I alt tabbed back to my Bureaucrat and ran him in the mission, found my Soldier, and did a /follow.

If you've ever done this in a game before, then you probably hate oddly shaped corners around doorways as much as I do now.

Anyways, after killing a few of these mission bosses I found a QL 19 Div 9 Plasmaprojector which was a much welcomed upgrade from my upgraded newb rifle. On my Agent the weapon to upgrade to was this one, which I have one of so far, working on a 2nd (but more on that later). After getting two of these preferred weapons, it appears that they will always be obtained from mission bosses or dyna camp bosses, which is good to know if you plan on making alts.

Taking Advantage of Implants
Before yesterday I knew about implants, had them on most of my characters, but really didn't get too into them. That all changed yesterday as I was playing my Agent/Agent duo I recently created.

As I mentioned earlier (read: last section) I have found one of the two guns I am looking for. As my search for more continued, I was beginning to notice how bad my upgraded newb weapon was compared to my preferred weapon (that my other agent was using). So I would make it a habit to check the Basic shop after most missions, just to see if there was something a little bit stronger. That is when I came across a Rifle that required 100 Rifle skill (due to being higher QL than my level). My rifle skill at the time was around 68-75, so I could not use it. The gun wasn't as good as the preferred weapon, but it was a nice step up from what I had. The attack speed was slower and the max damage was higher (so it would act like the preferred weapon with slow, big spikes of damage).

I figured, there must be some way for this to work out, so I went to the implant department in the Basic shop. I found a couple Agent implants that added to rifle, but it wasn't going to add up to be enough skill! I noticed a QL 20 implant (that added to rifle) required 44 Agility (I had 48) and that a QL 30 implant required 64 Agility. So then I began looking for Agent implants that added to Agility because I really wanted to use this rifle. I found a QL20 leg implant that added 10 and a QL20 foot implant that added 6. 16 + 48 = 64! So I bought the 2 QL30 Rifle implants and popped them in. I was now the proud Agent with over 100 Rifle skill and a shiny new Rifle.

I plan on going much further in depth with implants in my next few play sessions. I hear much talk of implanting implants to implant implants, a.k.a mini twinking (real twinking requiring much more than I currently know).

Spending Your IP Wisely
I am not 100% sure on this section. I think I know the basics, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone commented and shattered all that I knew.

Basically, when it comes to abilities (STR, AGI, etc), you want to max these all up until about 30-40 (when IP starts getting short). Afterwards, depending on your Profession, you want to only max a few of these. For instance, on my Soldier and Agents I max STR, STA, and AGI. Whereas on my Bureaucrat I max AGI, SENSE, INT, and PSY.

From there we go to Body. I max Body Dev and Nano Pool for a while, I stop maxing Nano Pool and continue to max Body Dev (because it raises your HP). Put more points in Nano Pool if you can't cast all of your buffs and are tired of using Nano heal pack thingys.

Ranged or Melee. Max your preferred weapon skill and any skills granted by your weapon (Fling Shot, Burst, Fast Attack, etc).

Speed. I always max Run Speed. Max whichever INIT your weapon uses. Ranged weapons used Ranged Init, Nano Programs use Nano Init, etc. If you don't know, check your weapon. I raise Nano Init for the first few levels as well due to it increasing your cast speed on your buffs (or spells if you use them).

Trade & Something. Always max Comp Lit. If you wanna craft then do it, but Comp Lit is important.

Nano & Aid. I always max First Aid and Treatment. First aid allows you to use in combat heals and treatment allows out of combat heals (as well as implants). Do not put points into the other skills until you get Nano Programs that you want to use. Then raise them accordingly depending on the requirements for the programs you want.

Double Boxing (or playing 2 dudes at once!)
Let me start this section off by saying I am highly considering creating a new account and upping my number to 3! It just runs so smoothly and makes the game twice as interesting.

I started out with this idea so I could get items I needed from Team Mission Bosses. I needed to be in a Team to be able to get the Missions! From there I designate 1 character as the main and 1 as the alt. Basically I just run into a room (far enough so the alt follows into the room) target the bad guy, use all my specials, and alt+tab to the alt. On the alt I would use my special and send in my pet (Bureaucrat). I got my Soldier to 25 and my Crat to 20 I believe, just from runnin missions! When I first started I was getting almost a level a mission, which was real nice.

After tiring of my Soldier/Crat combo I decided I wanted to play an Agent. I don't know much about ANY of the Professions but Agent sounded to me like a good choice. I wanted to run 2 of the same class and hopefully that class would be good at DPS. The plan is that since I'm fighting 1 mob at a time usually, we could take it down much faster this way, and since they're the same Profession I hit the same buttons and do the same thing.

It is working out pretty good so far, still trying to get a 2nd Rifle for the alt, but we don't have problems fighting at all.

The most fun part about playing 2 guys at once is during the Boss fights. I cannot solo a Boss that is a few levels above me (not sure about my level tbh). In these Team Missions the layout is a bit different due to their being multiple levels. You usually go down or up a level and then down or up another level to the Boss level. At the Boss level there is usually the Boss and 1 mob, sometimes there is just a Boss.

You need to have the best First Aid and Treatment packs as you can. Because you just cannot survive against an Orange con Boss without having to change tanks a bit to heal. You don't need taunts for this to work because you just go down a level and you're taken out of combat so you can sit down and heal. But don't take too long or your alt will die! If you leave the Boss alone longer than 5 seconds or so his health will begin to go back up pretty quickly too!

This is what I would suggest. Go in with the main, get aggro. Come in with the 2nd, start shooting the Boss, press F2 to select your main and watch until his health goes down whatever amount your first aid is capable of healing, then heal him. Switch back to the main, target yourself, use your first aid as soon as you've lost as much health as it can heal. Since they are both on the same timer you can now sit on your alt and wait to do it again.

You can usually go through this 4 or so times before it starts to get hairy. When you can no longer take hits and your first aid isn't close to being cooled down, you go down a level, sit, and use your treatment pack. Alt tab back to the alt. Check your first aid cool down, hopefully you will be able to survive until then. Switch back, you should be able to heal again with the pack, do so. If you're over half HP, go back up. You should still have aggro so though your alts health is low, he isn't taking hits and doesn't need healing. Use first aid as soon as you can, switch to the alt, heal your main.

Sometimes you have to take your alt down a level, sometimes you have to take them both down a level (try leaving a DoT on the Boss if you can, if not, heal one toon a lot and get him back up there fast), and sometimes your alt will become the new tank.

It really keeps you on your feet. Another thing that does this is when you're fighting a pet spawning mob. Sometimes the pet goes for your tank, sometimes your alt, when it goes for the alt it can get sticky.

Etc
All in all this is still a great game. If anything I would compare it to EVE in that it can be daunting how much you do not know and how much you are not told, really feeling out of the loop. But if you use Google, you can get yourself in the loop, and begin making your way through the land of Rubi-Ka!

Finished Firefly.

Haven't played much AO but when I return I plan on moving myself to the Temple of the Three Winds and hopefully being able to solo, but probably not.

Noticed I had 0 hours on my Xfire for AO so I had to manually add it, way to go Xfire.

Watched The Sphere this morning. That movie is so awesome ("the book was better!" fags need not respond!). Books are always better, durr.

Can't wait to get home and get super retarded and play so much AO, mainly because it is free.

I've been considering buying the expansion pack thingy for AO, but then I think I'll have a monthly fee, meh! Sure would be nice to have access to everything though.

I came very close to playing/creating an alt yesterday.

I don't have much today so I will be leaving you with two of my favorite videos.

I didn't run but one mission in Anarchy Online yesterday. Partly because I've upgraded to chronic, but also because I've started watching Firefly again, and I can't stop until I finish.

The last one I saw was Jaynestown. That's a good one. I think I've got like around 8-12 more episodes, so I'll probably get back to AO at the end of the week and definitely the weekend.

So, where do I start?

We've got crazy ramblings on WoW hate, knowing the whole time we're arguing opinions, and we've got bad feelings about it still. I don't want to have these feelings, I just do. I don't get it. I even almost attempted the WotLK 14 day trial. Except that once you click to download it, it activates your trial, and then you have to download like 6-9 gigabytes.... on DSL. Yeah, fuck that. So there goes my trial, fucking bastards.

From now on I'm just going to try and do my own thing, stay out of other people's business and such. Who know, maybe doing so will get Mr. Jennings to stop his comment boycott on myself (due to not having any comments to boycott! aha!).

BACK TO MY ADVENTURES!

I believe we last left off on DAoC, somewhere. I'm assuming I was talking about my Theurgist and how cool he is. Well, he is pretty cool. I got to level 15 and so far have only seen 1 enemy player, but he had just died to mobs, and then didn't come back. So, no PvP.

After playing Darkfall for a few weeks, who needs PvP though. I don't, that's for sure. Maybe in a month or so, who knows, but for now I am perfectly fine without owning newbs.

I've pretty much abandoned my DAoC trial, however. See what happens to me when I go back for more?

So, you're probably wondering, Mr. Bonedead, what are you playing then? Well, I will tell you my friend. See, I have been playing a game that I really forgot about. Sure, I mentioned it in that post of games I'd like to play soon, but I forgot how enjoyable it really can be.

Anarchy Online! DUN DUN DUUUHHHNN!

I discovered that I have two accounts! Who knew? One has a 38 (now 43 or 44 not sure) Opifex Martial Artist along with a 25 Atrox Enforcer (me big, me smash!) with an alt on the Atlantean server (the MA and Enforcer are on Rimor).

On the other account I have a few toons under 15. They've got weird names too.

My 25 Enforcers name is pretty cool though. Deytukarjurbs! Haha, man that's so good.

I remember the leveling being much slower on my MA when I stopped playing last. I went from 38-43(or 44, not sure) pretty quickly imo. Once you kind of figure the game out again, your alt-itis starts kicking in. I haven't given in yet, but maybe soon.

I like the games where you have to google a ton of shit. Figuring out how to do things is half the fun (no rly). For those of you who have played (pre level 100, post 50s need not comment!) this may sound familiar.

I downloaded ClickSaver. I figured out how to use it again. I found a thread on the forums that lists items newbs can find/sell to make tons of money early on (hooray!).

One of the items on the list is a Galahad Inc T70 Beyer (don't quote me on that) which is a pistol that adds 20 to Computer Literacy. Computer Literacy, what the heck is that? (You may be asking yourself) Well, you've got a ton of skills, you put points into them, and since there are so many skills there are so many items that require certain amounts of skill to use. Computer Literacy is used for equipping items that increase your NCU. Your NCU is basically your Conc (DAoC buffers know what I'm talkin about), or how many buffs you can have on you at one time.

For instance, I currently have I think 36 NCU (which might be bad). I can run 5 buffs on myself at once because one takes 1 NCU, another 7, two others take 4, and one more takes 10. That leaves me at 26/36 NCU. I have another buff that I'd love to run, but it takes 11 NCU. Also, it is good for me to leave at least 4 NCU open because I have a short duration buff (aka a OMG DONT DIE PLS button) that boosts my damage, freezes my ability to use Nano Programs (buffs/spells) for 15 seconds, and takes up 4 NCU.

Anyways, the pistol adds +20 Comp Lit. The lowest level the pistol comes is 44 (you can pretty much get any level any thing, which is cool) and you can dual wield it with minimal requirements (not minimal to me, at friggin all, but "they" say it is minimal).

In the outdated forum post, the guy says they sell as a pair for 500k.

So I walk into the Advanced store (basic->advanced->superior) which is an instance that everyone shares. The items sold in the store reset when no one has entered/been in the store for I believe 2 minutes. I begin looking through the weapons even though I don't need one and what do my eyes see? A Galahad Inc T70 Beyer, staring back at me! It was QL 45 too, just 1 above the 44 which is the desired one.

I had about 75k at the time and they were selling for 15k, so I bought 2 pairs at 60k. There were plenty of people inside the store so I figured I could go outside and sell them without them going poof. But I had to sell them fast.

I was paranoid from the get go. Anarchy Online has a strong community, much like SWG, the people playing have been there for a looong time. So, you don't want them mad at you if you intend on playing long and still enjoying it. So I was nervous about speaking in the trade chat. What if someone called me out and then I was stoned in public (wouldn't be the first time!)!

What I decided to do was to sell a pair for 100k, this way I'm making 70k a pair, which is not too shabby imo. I post in trade chat and instantly get two tells. One guy wants all the ones I have, the other just wants a single pair. I ignore the single pair guy and focus on finishing my deal with the greedy SOB (who was obviously buying low to resell higher). Once I wrap up business with him, I respond to the single pair person and set up a meeting as I'm running back to the Advanced shop.

I was able to buy I believe 12 more guns this trip. I sell the 2 to the guy and make another 100k. Then I send a tell to the greedy guy from the beginning and tell him that I "stumbled upon" 10 more of these bad boys and he just cant help himself. 500k later and I'm back in the store buying even more! I believe this time I got 30. But instead of running outside and selling more and letting people catch on to me I just banked them and went back to running missions.

The missions are really great imo. You go to a terminal and hit request and then you get 5 choices. There is the assassinate style, get an item bring it back, see an item report back, and maybe a see a person? I don't know. I just like the assassinate and see an item ones. Anyways, if you expand the options on the mission menu you see a bunch of sliders centered in the middle of their bars.

Bad/Good, Order/Chaos, Hidden/Open, XP/Credits and some other shit. There is also Easy/Hard at the top. Changing these changes the kinds of mission you will see after hitting request, but it also changes the mobs and the instance in which the mission takes place (ie, more robots or more animal or more people etc).

Each mission has an item reward as well as credits and xp. This is where ClickSaver comes in. ClickSaver looks at all 5 missions and shows you everything you need to know about them (without having to shift click each one individually ingame). You can set up item and location filters (but never at the same time!) as well. The best part about this program is the ability to have it keep refreshing the mission menu until you find an item or location you're looking for.

For instance, I use a 1 handed claw weapon. I wanted to get another so I could dual wield them. So I set up a filter for Hazangerine and let it ride! When I came home I found that it discovered one and I made my trek across the big ass world (extra bigass fries!). So now I'm dual wielding some claws and I'm cool and stuff.

When I'm just leveling I set a filter for the location Rome Blue, as that is the city I'm currently in (aka the main city for Omni peoples like me). This location is becoming more and more rare as I level though, so that sucks a lot.

Well, I guess that's about it for now. I've got to get back to work, meh!

yes there was some "tourism" going on but it's not the only reason. The game shipped with loads of issues from balancing, to gameplay, to server population imbalances.

There is and always has been Tourism going on. It happened when WoW launched people left all their old MMO's to get a look at the new kid..but you know what..it was good enough to hold on to a majority of those tourists plus add new people.

Yet somehow for WAR, or Darkfall, or any othe rnew game that comes out it is not the Developers fault for releasing a mess but the Tourists fauls for not taking a subpar product and forcing themselves ot play it?

How does that make any sense?

Oh and I'd like to point out that the same thing that happened to WAR happened to AoC..but you don't see people blaming the "WoW Tourist' for that do you.

The people that don't love everything WoW didn't quit until after the WoW players went back for Liche King (which if you remember launched about the same time WARs one month free time ran up). The reason they did quit was because of barren servers because a game like WAR requires dense population for it to achieve the desired effect (for the game to work as the devs intended).

Server population imbalances? Because WoW doesn't still have that problem, nope.
Same with balancing, which class is FoTM in WoW this month? (every mmo will always have balancing problems)
Gameplay is such a blanket statement that I can't even respond except to say that I think WoW has "gameplay issues". (Yeah, take that!)

When WoW launched, there was no tourism. That's like saying when everyone started boating over to America they were all tourists. You're not a tourist unless you go back where you came from.

This is my favorite part though. Where all new games are released as a "mess" and are "subpar" therefore cannot retain membership.

Well I can tell you why one of my RL friends stopped playing WAR (and went back to WoW where has has 4800 hours logged on his xfire). He told me he just didn't like it, I asked why, he said it was just too boring. So I asked him how he tried to level.

Turns out he just did a bunch of quests and a couple of PQs (which he thought were cool). He didn't try Open RvR (which admittedly wasn't that great at release, but is now) and he didn't try a single Scenario.

He even got to level 26. By solely questing and doing PQs.

Wonder where he adopted that playstyle.

Wonder why he would try to apply that playstyle to a game that advertises itself as the opposite of what he is used to.

As for AoC, I can't really comment much because I still haven't played it. However, my guild played it since release up until Darkfall came out, so I can't see it being that bad. Plus they shipped over 1 million boxes (sold over 500,000).

But this is the big point.
Over 500,000 people signed up for AoC beta.
The month after release, over 500,000 copies were sold.
They had 49 initial servers, giving each server over 10k people a piece.

Where the hell do you think all of those people came from? (hint: before WoW the estimated number of MMO players was <500,000)

Warhammer had 750,000 people playing one month after release (Mid October of 08).
WotLK released Mid November 2008.
Warhammer had over 300k paying subscribers in December of 2008.

You're telling me that is Funcom and Mythic's fault? What would have happened if they didn't put up enough servers to accommodate the estimate player base? Would people have said what they're saying about Darkfall now? How dumb they are for not letting everyone who wants to play actually play?

What if Aventurine, indie game company, exhausted it's resources some more and put up enough servers for the people who obviously aren't going to stick around? Do you think they could afford a loss like that? (aka, losing 70% of their servers)

Plus, the majority of WoW players who try out games that aren't WoW pretty much NEVER stick with it. Especially if the game was just released.
Why?
Because every MMO in the history of MMOs has released with bugs and lack of polish and queues and server downtime. The majority of WoW players did not play WoW at release and those who did like to conveniently forget that it had the same damn problems.

So what do they do after that? head on over to the WoW forums of course! We have important "THIS GAME IS TEH SUX" threads to make, which in turn, affirm the notion in WoW players' heads that there is no game out there "better" than WoW.

So when a game has been around a year and has polished up quite nicely, they're still not going to get new players because the only possible new players they could get would be coming from WoW, but since they all heard "THAT GAME IS TEH SUX" they won't even consider it.

Blizzard has raised an army of ignorant, whiney little bitches who only expect WoW quality MMOs out of every fucking game that releases. Which pretty much goes against the "Constitution" of the MMO genre (but why would WoW players bother to care about history of something they're supposed fans of).

I guess I just hate all of the fucking new kids WoW brought to the genre, because they don't care about the foundation that the genre was built on, because their parents spoil them or they think they're some super special fucker that game companies have to listen to. First off, looking at my Xfire, I have not played that much DAoC (I wish though). I accidentally left the character select screen on the last two nights (because quitting the game doesn't really quit the game).

Next, DAoC update. I started at level 6 and ended at level 10. I didn't play very much at all. I remember 7-9 took a whopping 17 minutes. What I did was go to Tomb of Mithra and for a level or so I just killed the 2 mobs at the front of the entrance (orange and red con). I was able to solo a red like nothing, which always makes ya feel good. After a level or two I began moving deeper in. I found a room I remember being in some time ago with guardsmen and a giant model (but small in size). By giant model I mean the giants in Muspelheim/Vanern Swamp in Midgard.

Anyway, I died in that room because I tried to take on too many guys. Stupid me though, I realized I have an AE mez I could've probably lived with had I quick casted it. All in all, good times. Crap loot, uber crap loot (except for 1 bracer that does 4 quickness 3 dex, even though I only needed the dex), but I did enjoy the small amount of time I played still.

Why I don't try Free to Play games anymore. Before I get into the reason, let me first attempt to recall all of the free to play games (MMO) that I have tried.

Knight Online
9Dragons
Ragnarok Online
Flyff
Runescape

I know there was at least 1 maybe 2 others from the original makers of Knight Online (Malaysian website I remember)

I enjoyed playing most of these games for a little bit, never Runescape though, I always wanted to hate that game (and did a pretty good job of it too). I would say Knight Online and Ragnarok Online were my favorites.

I played every class in Knight Online. I enjoyed running out of town and killing tons of those worms, then then walking bulcan thingies, werewolf dudes, goblins, and the mean orcs. My favorite parts were being able to create/upgrade my own weapons (after I figured it out) and finding phat loot at low levels that you could sell for a ton (for some reason I want to say a crystal or some shit).

For some reason I think Ragnarok wasn't free to play when I played it, or maybe it was beta, I don't know. But I had a thief guy and I got to like level 28 or something, I could attack really fast and that was neat.

Flyff was le boring, 9Dragons was repetitively boring (see my screenshots in either my flickr or photobucket), which turns out is a common characteristic of most of these free to play games.

I guess when you're free to play you don't need to hide the grindy-ness as much as a pay to play.

Enter: The reason I hate Free to Play.

The grindy-ness isn't masked for a reason. It is supposed to bore you. But why would they want to do that Mr. Bonedead? Well I will tell you my friends. They want you to get bored because then maybe you'll start clicking around the interface. Hey, what does this "SHOP" button do?

It opens a gateway to the very depths of hell! A place where you can trade your integrity for shortcuts!

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge advocate of shortcuts. I just prefer the kinds you don't have to pay for, the ones where you have to use the game mechanics in such a way that you avoid certain, unnecessary things.

I know RMT is not always the devil, because hell, there are some places where "the devil" is going to be, because he fits in. But it isn't in the games that I play.

Which is the main reason I don't play free to play games (anymore).

Yep, this post's name is the same as that little tagline doohickey at the top of the page. But, it isn't because of the tagline, it is because I am not playing Darkfall.

So since I'm not playing Darkfall, I've got to be playing something, right? I mean, how the hell am I supposed to pass the time after work without playing some sort of MMO?

Since I need to spend more time off the computer (even though it doesn't even seem like it's fucking working) I decided I would play some Diablo 2 in single player mode. I wanted to relive one of my first class builds and rolled a Paladin. I intended on speccing into Concentration and Blessed Hammer, which are received at level 18.

As I said last time I was level 17. Well, I hit 18 recently and got both of the skills needed to live out my Diablo 2 dream. After using it a bit and leveling a couple more times, I began to realize that this build sucks. See, the problem with Blessed Hammer is that if the spiraling hammer hits a wall, it fucking stops existing. Why would this be a problem? Oh I don't know, Maggot Lair in Act 2, anyone? Every small quarters place in the game, maybe?

Indeed I did not think it through.

Which brings me to the title of this post and tag line of this blog.

I've started another DAoC free trial. I decided I would play Albion this time 'round and have chosen a Wind specced Theurgist (oh hells yeah). I'm already level 6 and I just started last night. I've pretty much done everything I usually do in the Tutorial Zone (get a full suit of armor) and I believe I will be heading back to the main land today when I play.

What makes me sad is that I will probably end up either farming mobs in BGs, running Task Dungeons, or some other new fangled way to level extremely quickly. My best memories are of farming those fuckin Tomte and the Drakes near Nisse's. So that is what I would like to try and achieve.

Now I know I can't go into Midgard and go to Nisse's but I can find the lowest level Albion dungeon and WTF rape that shit for breakfast. Then again, casters suck in close quarters (dungeon) combat. I guess the worst part is that it is a game where you care about phat lewts but the best phats for low levels isn't even dropped but bought off an NPC. Sure I've got to go into Catacombs and dungeon dive a bit farming aurulite, which could be considered as dropped, but let's face it, I'm buying it from an NPC.

Now I could go full on rebel and boycot aurulite armor, only wearing phat lewts dropped by mobs in the classic (or even SI, or even Catacombs!) lands, which may be something I try, but if I decide to PvP after that I'll probably get raped.

Quite the conundrum!

But is it even going to be worth it? I know I can make it to max level before the 2 week trial is up, I've done it before, but I won't be able to do anything Labyrinth of the Minotaur, I won't be geared at all for any kind of RvR, and I won't have any Champion Levels/Abilities from Darkness Rising. So am I just making a BG warrior? Am I just trying to relive my past of farming mobs instead of questing to level? Am I even going to enjoy myself?

I don't know.

But I do know that a few other games are looking like mighty fine choices as well, it's just too bad I've already played them all.

I could throw WAR on there if I didn't play it so recently and you may as well consider SWG as the game that I'm going to be playing last (for the same reason).

Anarchy Online almost always gives me a feeling of shitty everytime I start playing it. I like being able to /random me some missions, especially with that program that scans them all for phat lewts you want to acquire, but I could see myself getting burned out quickly. But hey, it is free and I already have a level 30-40 something Martial Artist (I think) so why not just have as much fun with it as I can for a few.

EQ2 gives me similar feelings to AO, mainly because the Commonlands are so hard to get the fuck out of. I've got at least 2 toons near the top of that level range and once I get there it just sucks ass. Die to 3 mobs die to 2 mobs die to mobs mobs, soloing isn't allowed here! I know that isn't really true, but it is close. Plus the PvP server is ridiculous, I'm not even going into how lame it is to have a twinked out commonlands bitch (especially when you have much higher level toons to play, you fuckhead).

GW would probably suck pretty quickly. I don't have any of the expansions and I don't want them either. My PvP toon is an Elementalist (right?) / Scout (Ranger?). I am set up to do uber fire spells with lots of AE, lots of DMG, and lots of knockdown. When I get in trouble, my Ranger skills save my butt. There was a time when I could really kick some ass from a distance and then when they get close to me they're pretty much asking to die. Ahh, the good times. Probably not going to play.

Of the games I've gone more in depth on so far, I plan on playing zero of them long term. Which probably means I won't even bother.

You can go ahead and include LotRO in the list of games I will not be playing long term/probably at all. I got to 15 on a Minstrel and while the screaming thing was pretty cool, I don't like being forced to group. (Well, unless it is Darkfall)

WoW I honestly could see myself sticking with for at least a month (a month used to be my limit but with my last SWG stint lasting 2 months, I may have evolved) if not more, and it really hurts me to say that. However, I am only level 56, so it isn't like I've been there done that yet. Shit, I don't even have TBC yet. What!

I bet some are wondering, what about EVE? Haha, no no no thank you. I did that for a little bit and that's about all I'm doing with it. I hate being forced into grouping when I feel retarded. I want to feel good about my skills before I am forced to group. With Darkfall, I was pretty sure I was a leet mofugga from the get go, which made it much easier to group. Plus my guild was a bunch of drunks with mandatory chuggings on vent.

I do miss my guild.

The pool sure is getting smaller. I keep making my rounds in the MMO worlds and keep chucking more to the weeds each time.

First of all, I know Porky says it longer, but just typing that much was pretty difficult. Let's spell sounds! Onomatopoeia and all that. KABLAM!

I am done with Darkfall for now. Maybe I will return after the NA release, but I just doubt it. What is the problem? Well, the game is pretty much too good. Yep, you heard me right, I'm laying down Darkfall because it is too good.

But how is that even possible, Mr. Bonedead? Well, I'll tell you my friend. Ya see, when I like a game, it is the only thing I care about until I no longer like it. That is where the problem arose. Ya see, I'm engaged to a lovely lady that I care for immensely. Turns out she was feeling a little neglected with all of my Darkfally-ness going on, so I picked what is more important to me.

Plus, Mortal Online is going to be starting beta (if they haven't already) and that's gonna be the same if not better than Darkfall. So instead of saying but but but I've waited for 8 years for something like this! I can say, well shit, there's going to be more than 1 eventually, which could lead to even more, so fuck it.

I would've just cut my time back to an hour a day, maybe a little more, but I just can't get a feeling of accomplishment in that time playing DF.

I can in Diablo 2 though!

Single player Diablo 2 LoD (even updated it to the most recent online version) is the shiznit. I decided to attempt to relive a nifty Paladin build that impressed me dearly when I was but a wee newbie. Blessed Hammers and Concentration! I get both skills at 18 and am currently 17. My plan was to reach 18 yesterday but after I got the Horadric Cube (DECKARD CAIN!!!!) I decided that was enough. Well after I transmuted my chipped gems into flawed, mofucka!

Yeah, Diablo 2 is hardcore, Darkfall can't touch that shit!

Well, technically it is in a way. I've even been considering giving it a shot. Remember? Once you beat Diablo 2 online (closed Bnet) on any difficulty (I believe) then you can make Hardcore characters. You remember, the ones with PERMADEATH!

That is the most hardcore shit in the world mane. You can't touch permadeath.

Yeah I don't know if I will do that, but I may, who knows. I'm not really ever looking for HARDCOR3 FUCK YEAH shit, but I do enjoy it from time to time.

I've put in my leave of absence at Murder Herd. I wish those guys the best of luck, I had a blast with them, and they're going to be a rather annoying force for the remaining players of Darkfall. I logged in Saturday morning to find 2 buildings, our grove, and our clan bank smoking. Apparently Awful Company, being extra awful, decided to bully some small guilds into becoming their loyal peons, and about 10 guilds attacked our city with siege hammers as well.

We were able to repair the bank with the 1 repair kit we had to go with a repair shard. Repair kits were a secret in the morning and by the end of the day we could buy them from our merchant, go Aventurine! Hah.

It sucks that I've got to stop playing because we were about to start being more offensive instead of always defending our city. Fuck our city lol, we're gonna rape some people. Meh!

I'm going to be going all over the place today. Not really, but I've got a few subjects I plan on touching on and they are as follows: Strength and safety in numbers, my guild raiding Sinister's hamlet, I finally paid my 500g guild tax, Darkfall is finally supported by Xfire, and my plans during my next few play sessions. Enjoy.

Strength and Safety in Numbers
As I have been checking out other blogs playing Darkfall I have noticed that others are having problems that I have not had. Well, I actually did have Iso's problem when I first started, but I got positively aligned much quicker than he is. I couldn't imagine being red and outcast and alone. That does sound about impossible. Which brings me to my point: You need friends in Darkfall. Apply to a guild that seems the least likely to fuck you over. But that isn't going to be easy. It was for me but I got lucky. I seem to keep getting lucky in Darkfall, who knows, maybe if I wasn't as lucky I would be writing about my struggles instead of my adventures.

Lands that used to be open and barren when I was red are fast becoming dangerous and populated with the influx of sales and players moving away from starter towns. Even the easy goblin spawn by our city isn't safe anymore, solo or duo. I was there with a guildie and we got jumped by 2 guys. We would've won until a third slow ass straggler suck newb showed up and then I was being DPed. I soloed there yesterday and got attacked by a guy when I had low health. Luckily (odd how I keep getting lucky) I had plenty of stamina and ran through all the goblins (hoping he would follow) then into their goblin village and then jumped on top of their goblin houses and back over the wall! Haha, follow that shit bitch!

The most common number I hear of is 4. 4 mounted/geared guys is pretty damn solid. More is even more solid of course. However, some soloers are fucking amazing. For instance, some dude came to our town when half of us were in queue a quarter were afk and the rest were either not in town or weak/naked. This dude had full plate and was a polearm sprinter fag. Someone called out the entrance he was by and then like a retard lost him. I saw him the whole damn time, I was moving closer to engage, but once I did engage him I realized this was not going to go well. None of my teammates were even near me, ugh! I was standing at the bank naked practicing mana missile because I was told to by my leader. But nooo, the gatherer/goblin warrior must single handedly kick the polearm sprinter decked out in plate out of town. Right.

So I pipe up in vent and say, so is anyone else going to come kill this guy or what? Then I hear about 5 retards say oh he's back? (he never left) A couple others ask which direction he's at? (it was said less than a minute ago) But finally, our fat single female higher rank in the guild stuck in queue cus she's fat and annoying (see: The Guild, the fat lady) bitch face pipes up, Well usually we at least try and fight the guys, like I'm totally new to competition/PvP/the guild. I had to throw myself at this guy like 3 times before other people started engaging him. Good thing the only armor I had at the time was cloth chest pieces and armguards. But I can be mad at those fucking failure fucks later.

The point is, strength in numbers ftw in DF. Even though I wish I had uber combat skills, unlimited suits of plate, unlimited mounts, and not having to deal with lazy fucking failures who can't even have some guild pride and defend their fucking city, that isn't happening anytime soon. So I must sit back and wait and hope that strength in numbers remains plausible.

Sinister raids
Yesterday I logged in and heard of a couple more raids on Sinister's grove. Sinister is a guild that owns the hamlet north east of our city. They have purchased a grove (lumberjacking inside your city) and we have been attempting to make it our grove by raiding and killing all of their lumberjacks. We've had a few runs and from what I hear we get about 1k wood a run, which is pretty damn good.

So I logged in and start hearing tales of a failed raid on their grove that happened the day before. Apparently Sinister hid on their roofs until we all swarmed in and began blasting hellfire down on us. That was how the story went anyway. I believe my leader (the guy not the girl, the one I want to listen to) heard this at the same time as me because he began gathering forces to attack yet again! I readily volunteered.

We gear up in our best (for me it was a chain vest and padded pants lol) and gather in the center of our city. We're given the order to move out and begin our march. I have not ventured very far away from town, in fact, I am pretty much a newb who stays in the safety of his town for the most part. But not anymore I'm not, because we're marching to battle!

We see a mounted player as we near their hamlet and he turns around bolting back to his friends to raise the alarm. At this point our nicely zerg like "herd" if you will dissipates around their hamlet. I don't know where anyone is but I get to a wall and peek around to see Sinister guys firing to my right. So I charge and a few are behind me, we quickly dispatch a captain of the guild, and then we get orders to try and get on the damn roof.

Long and boring story short (I began writing this the other day) we fought for a while and eventually we fell back due to farming naked guys and subsequently getting farmed ourselves. Since our towns are so close you could literally see the battle changing hands depending on whose town we were closer to, which was pretty cool imo. We got around 1k wood or some shit.

Finally paid my tax
My guild has 2 taxes. The first is called a donation and it is 200g. The second is called a tax and is 500g. I am a retard and do not know how to make money, mainly because I don't want to get in trouble and get kicked out of the guild for being selfish. Well I'd sold 1 steed grass in town to a guy for 250g and while I was farming another I got ganked by those 3 fuckers (may have mentioned them here, if not check ixo or hardcore casual comments) and respawned back at our guild city (where I cannot sell them for 250g).

It took 3 trips to the goblins west of our city to gain the money. I would wait until I had about 40-50 gold and then bindstone recall to sell all the crap junk and add the gold together. It was stupid as shit and sucked ass, but I paid my tax so now I feel less burdened. COOL!

Darkfall on Xfire
Xfire now supports Darkfall. When I began writing this yesterday it was ranked #71 (in most minutes played per day) and today it has fallen back to #74. That may seem like a big decline, but consider that it has only been supported for a few days. Then consider that yesterday the servers (Darkfall) were down pretty much ALL FUCKIN DAY.

My plans
I honestly don't know wtf I'm going to do. I am kind of getting tired of all the bullshit to be honest. From the ridiculous fucking retard army that is the Darkfall Forums to my own guild annoying the shit out of me to not being able to play until the weekends due to server downtime/needing multiple hour play sessions to feel like I get something done, this shit is starting to drive me away.

I've considered rerolling and attempting to play solo (because it's harder, you become self sufficient, and you don't have to respect retards because they have vaginas and play video games) but I'm sure then I'd be considered "RABBIT" and MH would hunt me down for 1 screenshot of me dead. It'd probably be one of the retards that can't get over themselves too. I fucking hate being on vent and 5 fucking retard 25 year old burger flippers all try to talk at the same time, then stop, and then try again. I GOT THROUGH LIFE BY TALKING LOUD WHENEVER I WANT TO HURRRRR.

Man I like certain aspects of my guild but there is just so much fluff.

I think the game in general has just made me more hostile.

'Neakin behind enemy lines

As you may be aware, my guild hates Awful Company, and rightly so. Well a few of us low rank people with our bad skills decided we were going to go and gank some of their gatherers. I was very excited about this because I like gathering but I also like fighting and this plan satisfied both, sorta.

So we get on our mounts....scratch that. We don't have mounts so we head out of our SE gate and keep going straight. None of us really knew where their city was, but we all knew it was in that general direction because that is the direction they run off in.

As we're hopping from tree to tree, attempting to be sneaky SOBs with non existant stealth, our leader spouts off in vent that, hey, there's a guy! Well we all set our paths to engage and everyone but me sucked at that. So I was the only guy whacking this guy in the back with my 1h sword and he wasn't dying. I started strafing to the side to let my teammates try some ranged attacks as well.

All of a sudden I take a decent bit of damage as a mounted big friggin dude decked out in uber gear rides by and slashes at myself and the person I'm pursuing. So I shit my pants a bit and think, it's cool, we can probably take him eventually after most of us die, but then I realized it was a guildy! Huzzah! He raped the guy down and he was naked without loot. Sadface.

We continue on our way and begin to notice more and more loading lag (when you can just tell a character is being loaded within a mile range of you, somewhere), so our group leader begins telling us to be sneakier! Bonedead! Get your fuckin head down!

Damn man I'm fuckin sorry I'm not an emo elf or puppy dog, I'm sorry I chose Ork because of the disadvantages, to prove I'm a bad ass. Excuuuusee me.

Anyways we continue on and see a mounted character in the distance. He is riding a drake which is a pretty sweet looking mount, especially off in the distance with the fog and shit. Whatdya know, another guildy! This one is a higher up fo sho and tells us to watch out for the hill giant sluggers which we'd been running from already. We parted ways and continued on!

After only about 2-3 minutes after leaving said guildy we encounter some uber loading lag and the group leader starts freaking out. Fucking Lieutenant Dan style from Forrest Gump. SIT DOWN, AND SHUT UP! So we did (people call me Forrest Gump). We start crouch walking from tree to tree and then we see some mana missile effects in the distance.

As we approach from the side we can now see about 7 Awful Company sitting on a rock. Only 1 is moving and the rest are sitting down. We begin discussing the possibility of attacking and winning. I mean shit, if 6 out of the 7 guys are afk, I think we have a pretty good shot amirite? As we're about to move in, people start standing up! Fuck fuck fuck, bonedead crouch your big ork ass back down behind that tree (mothafucka!)!

Someone in the group said they were exploiting, I don't necessarily think that was the case. Even if they were, they didn't need to, they had plenty of people to mana missile some hill giants down before they reached them. I don't know if standing on the rock changes THAT much.

So we moved on from those guys, knowing we must be close if this is where their farming group is. So I hopped tree to tree, again, I got yelled at to keep my head down, again. Then we saw it. On the top of a plateau with a small lake or some shit near it. We stop at a tree and discuss our plan. We remember that we're here to kill gatherers and so our plan is to start hopping tree to tree some more, somewhat away from the city, and look for people gathering on trees, rocks, plants, etc. Right after we talk about this, one of our group members pipes up in vent:

"There's a guy lumberjacking on the other side of this tree!"

Oh man was that fucking great or what. We got 2 guys on each side and once we were in position we rushed in and gank gank gank. Awful Company, afk gathering, because we're really good!

We get a little freaked out and run off a bit in an attempt to stear clear of any mean guys trying to defend their city. Well, one of our guys somehow gets bugged and the only direction he can move is backwards lol. So we're all hiding behind a tree and he's crouched walking backwards saying am I getting close to a tree? It was pretty gold. He rested and it corrected itself but for a second there we seemed a man down.

We swing around the city a bit more and begin to see a ramp in the terrain that leads up to the plateau. It has a funny dick shaped rock on it with two completely differently sized testicles. Our order from our group leader was to run to said dick rock and climb/hide on the enormous left testicle. From there we peered over to see the city gates, tee hee hee hee.

There is another big rock towards the gate and to our right, we're told to make a dash for it. We get behind it, hopefully unseen, and begin discussing what to do next. Well I guess some gatherer or something decided it was a good time to return to town because he came up behind us, stopped for a second, and then took off for the fuckin gate.

CHARGE! Stop that man! The group leader and the guy who noticed the lumberjacker stuck to the Lieutenant (his rank in Awful Company). Myself and my buddy Murderface noticed a miner just kind of sitting there to our right and charged his ass. This one is a Colonel in Awful Company and is one of the SDS (Seven Deadly Sins). His name is Sloth. Sloth was afk and we took his pickaxe and his 20 stone (baaad).

The other guy didn't drop much either, so our mission was technically pretty damn fail.

After we killed the guys we knew we had to get the fuck out of there and now. We jump down the plateau and head for some rocks close by. Shit, there's a mount in front of us in the distance. We sit still, because sometimes that is all you have to do to avoid being detected. The mount runs off our screens into the distance, we assume he is looking for us. Sloth SDS runs from the same direction as the mounted player, so I guess that is where they respawn. He ends up running right passed our group leader and didn't even see him. Then another mounted guy does the SAME THING. Didn't even see him.

We're trying to decide which way to run. We don't want to run into anyone looking for us, this mission will be a failure if we die. Someone suggests going to the left (opposite direction of mounted guy), the leader says south (could possibly lead us into the mounted guy who went SW), and I say we should go SE because then the mounted guy probably wont find us. Group leader was alone to our right, we were behind a rock. Well the mounted guy goes around our rock and comes up beside us! Fuck! I say in vent, alright we're going south east, see that big rock, fucking get behind that big fuckin rock, and I took off. Somebody reports more mounted players on top of the plateau looking at us.

The rock seems so far away but we just keep sprinting. Since I am in the front I decide to take a second and check behind us. The mounted guy that snuck up behind us was not giving chase! WTF?

We were not being pursued at all. This did not make us anymore calm though, if anything it made us more paranoid of a mounted army or some shit coming out of nowhere and raping us. In hindsight I believe they thought we had a bunch of guildies behind the rock for an ambush.

So we get to the rock, climb a bit on top and rest. For all we know we still have some defending to do and stamina is friggin important. The group leader gets up and looks around, seems clear, and we get the order to run to another rock.

Once we get to this rock we're told to bindstone recall and that we did a good job and all that jazz.

It was a good feeling and I had a great time.

Livin the Darkfall Dream

I am a member of a large guild in DF, the Murder Herd. We have claimed probably the best city looks wise, defense strategy wise, and map location wise. We're right smack dab in the middle of the shit. We have been grinding soo much on Mining and Lumberjacking and everyday it seems we add new awesomeness to our city. 3 of our 4 entrances have completely built walls and we should be getting the 4th soon. We are expecting cannons and maybe guard towers soon as well.

If you follow the clan section in the DF forums you've probably seen the Goons talking a bunch of crap and probably some from my guild as well doing the same. I'm going to try and explain this mess as best I can but first I must say that I have been having the best gaming experiences of my life.

Goonswarm (Goonfleet/Goons/Something Awful newbs/etc) has made a guild in DF named Awful Company. Sometime recently they charged our city (which is on an uber mountain, we call it Murder Mountain), killed our Queen, and that's about all I know about that. I wasn't on, I didn't hear about it, I just saw the 30 seconds video the Goons made (which didn't really show much imo). From what I can tell as soon as they saw our rubble/walls they just started shooting mana missile up towards the top of our mountain. Which don't get me wrong, looks pretty cool, but was pretty much just that.

I spend most of my time in our city. I find a sparring partner and we beat on each other while the other parries. Some people raise magic skills, some archery, some craft, but we always have a bunch of people there. I'm always naked, I've died a few times and I just know that naked is the way to go, especially since I don't have piles of backup armor in my bank or piles of harvesting tools. Well either Friday or Saturday (I'm thinking Friday) I was just standin around our bank mindin my own business, pretty much AFK, when I hear vent start going crazy. I come back to my screen and see some guy hitting another guy and I think hey, people sparring. Then I notice the people in vent are saying "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" and I move my mouse over the guy attacking the AFK and whatd'ya know, Awful Company. So I pull out my leafblade and my newb shield with 0 armor bonuses and start smackin people. Next thing I know we're all running down our stairs/jumping down our mountain and chasing them out of our gates. Once we get em out of our gates we keep pushing them back and eventually make it to their town. I don't know how that isn't a win.

The best part is the Goons started saying on the forums that we all rushed the bank and put our stuff in there. If anything I bet people banked important stuff, like resources or money, things that we give as contribution to the guild (and are required to do). I think I went to the bank to grab my shield. From what I can tell most of my guildies don't care about losing items, except the newbs like me with low skills. They said that after they saw that they decided fuck that, that it was bullshit and turned around.

I think they just saw us all at the bank (which is our hangout spot), we attacked their leaders (who weren't being defended lol), and instead of having any sort of organization or tactics they just ordered a retreat. But, I don't really know. They ended up back at their town lol.

Saturday rolls around and we haven't had many attacks on the city, just a few harvesters getting ganked and our horsemen ganking the gankers and saving our resources. There is a tense hour or so when someone mentions that it is the time of day when Awful Company usually attacks. But nothing happens.

All of Sunday goes by with only a few skirmishes outside of our walls, we get 1 unguilded intruder running around in our city who was hard as shit to catch and then pretty much disappeared.

Sunday night rolls around and it is time for a guild meeting. We are given exercises to run and begin doing so. During rest time we notice in System chat that an Awful Company member has entered our city. We get a report over vent that tons of Awful Company are charging the city. They enter our city limits and System chat is spammed with Awful Company. We're told a direction and we all head to the top of the stairs (strategic city location FTW). As they're forced to walk our set pathways and funnel up our stairs we're raining down magic and arrows all over them. We switch to melee and charge them out of our gates. We're firing tons of mana missiles into the distance of the hills and fewer and fewer are returned. We receive orders to stop firing and the mounted players scout ahead. The Goons tried to flank around to another entrance lol. We were waiting for them when they got there haha, it was the funniest shit ever.

So we're all just shooting mana missiles and arrows (I'm never doing this because my skills in those two areas blow, so I'm just watching until we're told to charge) down at our enemies and they're doing the same. We're told to not go down yet so I run to the bank and grab a staff. I start shootin away and hit a couple of people, nothing big, I do like 9 dmg with mana missile. It is really bad. But that isn't the point. Anyways, we get the order to charge, and we friggin do.

They turn and run so quick it is ridiculous. I see Sir Vival, SupremeGeneral (aka guild leader) running away and make him my new target. They all run behind this really big rock and we when get behind it..... We're ambushed by 500 guys!!! Nope. That didn't happen. Hmm, maybe uh, They switched to some crazy advanced AE magic spell and wtf raped us!! No, not that. These Goons with their skill must have done something awesome right?

Well, if you consider LOGGING OUT to be awesome, then they sure as hell did.

Talkin bout Darkfall (cus not too many people want to anymore)

Well I got in yesterday, if you didn't notice.

I was hesitant about my decision to play at first. The world was scary, I felt like a total noob, and I couldn't even hit the damn goblins very well. My aim with Mana Missile is alright, but I can not plan on relying on that shit, because when people get close to you you have to be able to do something. So I died to goblins because at this time I'm still not afraid to die, oh shit, I drop all my loot.

Well some guy Rezzed me, fuck yeah, and then the server crashed.

Beer beer beer beer weed beeerrrrrr.

Servers up!

I get back in and it is back to goblin killin! Man is this fun, each guy gets to take 2-3 swings at a goblin, some dude in the back is shooting mana missiles and arrows in our backs, and then I steal all the loot because I'm faster bitch!

I died twice and made it back to my corpse before anything was jacked.

I figured out how to revive someone and he gave me 10g for it! Alright!!

So I'm running away from the gobbos with low hps and see another guy right in front of me doing the same. We go behind a tree to rest and instead of resting, I stabbed him in the back, ftw! Loot loot loot run run run!

So I'm grey, runnin away from the newb area due to high chance of getting swarmed and low chance of turning blue again. I find a graveyard type place with some skeletons. I am able to kill these skeletons with the armor I stole from the guy I ganked.

Somehow I aggro a fucking uber ghoul bitch fuck of a mob and he just about kicks my ass so I run away over a hill. As soon as I turn around to go back I get wtf bombarded by a big fucking dude on a pig. I try to run and lose his dumb ass a little by doing circles and then breaking the circle when I'm behind him by going over a hill, but since he's on a mount there's really nothing I can do. So I turn and make my stand.

I'd heard a guildie talking about getting ganked by a couple of horse riders and I thought, I wonder if you can kill the mount while they're on it. So I aimed for his little piggies neck and swung away as if he were an alien drawin circles in my crops.

Well I barely hurt him and he fuckin raped me.

I respawned at the bad guy bindstone because I'm grey with some negative alignment. I am veeerrryyy far away from where I started and begin to head back that way. I stumble upon a scary looking human carrying a big ass 2h sword and wearing some armor. I am naked with my leafblade but for some reason I decide to follow him from a distance.

He meets up with a Wessex foolio and they begin to kill some goblins. My plan is to attack, why the fuck not you know, but I need to have surprise on my side. So I begin making a really big loop back around behind them. When I arrive, they are gone! :(

I decide to take on the goblins! Hmm, thats weird, these goblins aren't attacking me! Doot do doo, nothing to see here. Oh shit, why are these 4 patrolling goblins attacking me! Mobs aren't supposed to attack you, here!

So I ran away from the goblins, get pretty far, turn around, and as soon as I get where the guys were I see the goblins running at me from a mile away. Talk about memory AND aggro range, damn!

So I run away even further and rest up. And back we go! Hooray, they're gone and I can loot more. I work my way through a bit and reach the back and then I hear mana missiles being fired. Shit shit mofucka peoples be shootin at us zomg! So I go into James Bond mode and start crouch walking around. I see who I believe to be the 2 guys I originally pursued and it appears they are attacking a third guy. I didn't want to get involved since the chase appeared to be going away from me and I had little to no cover on my path to head them off. Nothing says surprise quite like charging someone in an open field!

I walk a bit away from the gobbos and am gonna go to bed. I consider leaving myself running into a wall to gain skill overnight, but I had new gobbo loot that I don't feel like losing. So I just quit regularly.

I believe when I log back in I will be at the evil bindstone, hopefully not at the good bindstone heh. I wish I'd be by the goblins again, but I'm sure I can find that place again.

After raping all the passive goblins today for a bit I plan on making my way to some enemy race starting lands and trying to gank a couple guys for alignment gain. Shit if I can I'll do a few so that I after I return to my starter area and do my quests I can gank a couple people there and stay positive aligned.

That's it, DF is cool as shit man.

It is scary, but it is cool as shit.

I forgot to mention that I did bank my loots before I pked my racemate so I have stuff that isn't on my person. Definitely going to be wearing less and banking everything from now on.

WAR has been alright. Me and my buddy have been playing a bunch of different toons together in the T1/T2 scenarios. I couldn't play the healer passed T1 because of the damn healing shit. I can't heal people, my fucking battle rage clouds my vision and before I know it I'm a fucking DPS caster who can uber heal himself.

Knight of the Shitty Fuck is alright. Been leveling him more than anyone recently and am up to 12. Lol.

I played Quake Live the night it went live. I managed to get to Expert and then lost to the bot twice before being summoned back to WAR. I mean from what I've seen, sure, it's cool. But it is still just Q3 in a browser. I tried to play it again twice since and it has been down both times. Apparently DF isn't the only game having trouble launching.

That's it for now, and probably another few days.

I really have been considering recording myself being retarded on my mic but I just don't know yet. I'd feel like a real jackass due to my apartments walls being paper thin, but there will definitely be weed and dumb stoner humor relating to MMOs, so I mean shit who wouldn't enjoy that.

Besides, why do you think we're having so many WoW clones? That's because the guys in marketing figured that that's what the majority of players still want and so, that's where the big bucks are. The day the masses grow tired of the same old formula and game devs realize that they can spawn only so many derivative games before the market is saturated is when we'll start seeing some new stuff coming out. Then, and only then, will we see serious game companies try to innovate and try to fill out niches.

I don't know when it'll happen but it will. It's a concept that keeps repeating itself no matter the matter at hand. Take food for instance. Many decades ago, pizza and chinese food were still considered exotic. Then everyone opened up pizzerias and chinese restaurants and people grew tired of eating pizzas and chow mein all the time. Since then, people came up with 'raw', vegan, Japanese, French, Greek, 'nouvelle cuisine', healthy, unhealthy or themed restaurants and so on.

Not convinced? Just look at the myriads of porn niches there are nowadays. Thirty years ago we had Playboy and that was basically it.

I've gotta get it. I couldn't feel right posting here at PKER.org without supporting the ideals we love so dearly with my wallet. It takes 8 years for the opportunity to arise and depending on how this one does it may take another 8 years before we have this opportunity again.

I don't care if the game is a huge pile of dog shit. I've payed for worse. If the game sucks then I'll quit. But, the initial purchases are pretty much just investments in the ideals and features that Darkfall promises. Whether the developers deliver or not does not tarnish the ideals but tarnishes the developers. We all [are supposed to] want everything that Darkfall promises and the only way to show that is to buy it. Let the money truly reflect the interest so that people can see that we're not as niche as everyone acts like we are.

GUY1 I think what you say is true to an extent, but MMOs are not Pizza or Chinese food. If they are, tell me which Pizza shop or Chinese shop is supposed to be WoW? Which one is UO Pre-Trammel? Shadowbane? MMOs are a whole new beast. Games like Darkfall will start being made more often when investors see $$$$, that is what it all boils down to with MMOs, how much money you can milk them for. If investors see that 500k people purchase Darkfall, but only 50k actually pay for the next month, then it is possible for them to conclude that 500k people are interested in the ideals that Darkfall promises but since Aventurine poorly implemented those ideals they were not able to capitalize on them.

Once investors realize that they are not going to be able to attain WoW success they will begin looking at the niches and pick the one with the most $$$ thrown at it.

This is the only way we can let the MMO gods know what it is we want.

First, A Message to the PvEers who Hate on DF

The reason it didn’t work in Pre-Trammel UO was because the majority of players didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. With Darkfall, everyone who is going to play knows what the crap is goin on.

This is going to be an odd comparison but bear with me. I don’t have a problem with gay marriage, it does not affect me. But stupid rednecks feel that it does affect them because it is immoral (which is an opinion), these rednecks are outspoken and loud about why being gay is stupid and how they don’t understand how anyone could be into that.

Well it is pretty much the same thing with hardcore PvP games. Go to any developing game’s forum and I can almost guarantee you there are a couple people trying to push for more PvP or better PvP and there are tons more arguing against them. PvEers argue against PvP even when it is tailored around them so they don’t have to participate. It is just a hatred that they have with PvPers.

To all the PvEers who aren’t going to play Darkfall, please just shut the fuck up, you’re not a better person because you don’t like risky games. In reality, it is still just a game, and if you can’t handle that it is a game that isn’t made for you then I suggest taking a break from games.

Hello there!

My name is Bonedead, but you can call me Bonehead, just like all the 12 year olds (and 30 year olds) who like to think that they're original and clever.

I am a blogger and a very angry one at that. Why? Well I'll tell you...

See, there are other bloggers in this little blogosphere I like to call home, and usually they make posts which contain a lot of well thought out ideas and arguments. This makes me angry because I do not do that. Sure you can say my anger problems are my own fault, but I beg to differ!

Ya see, I've always been the kinda man that relies on his gut, not his brain. I don't trust the brain, ya see. To me it's just a series of tubes and most of these tubes keep tellin me to stop doin the things I like, which is why I like my gut. Ya see my gut likes to eat food and push out poop, two things I have grown very fond of. What has a brain ever done for anyone? My point exactly!

Brains only get ya inta trouble, my friend. But nooooo, Mr. Thinky McThinkerson over there spent the last day with a draft on his laptop cautiously editing every god damn word and analyzing every god damn thought over and over until he had a fuckin essay that would no doubt get graded an A in any highschool english class in the country.

Not me though, nope, I'm a blogger's blogger. I blog because I wanna blog, not because people want me to write somethin thoughtful and stuff. See, when people come here they know they're not about to stumble upon an MMO epiphany or the ultimate raid design or anything of the sort. Alright, so I quit SWG cus I just got so fuckin tired of it. I had talked some shit to the 12 year old pvp wow rejects gone SWG fags on the forums who were complaining about how they're a big fuckin mob of retards, and then put my foot in my mouth by saying I'd level to 90 on a combat toon and kick their asses. Right, like I'm going to PvE to level 90 in that fucking game in this lifetime.

My friend got WAR and I resubbed. We're on Praag and we're both playing a Rune Priest. We fucking own that shit so much, it just doesn't matter what happens, we can win with just a level 1 IB if we have to. I'd like to get some of it frapsed soon, because two days ago in Khaine's Embrace I was at the Destro flag with like their whole damn team chasing me, healing myself as much as I could, and he was healing me too. It was just so funny because I didn't die and our team slowly picked off their team. Pretty much PvP gold imo.

I updated my links and about me thinger. Added Ixobelle because he rules and I finally remembered. Changed Plaguelands (comment) to something more appropriate. Removed Jeff Freeman's link for obvious reasons as well.

Last Week in SWG, Part Three

I've decided to make this a multi part series due to not having an extensive enough vocabulary to keep saying Last Week in SWG differently more than twice.

This last week has been a very mentally trying week. I don't know if I'm getting bored or if I don't have enough direction or even if I'm just lonely in SWG. Whatever it is, it has slowed me down a bit.

This is going to be a quick recap and if I have time later I'll expand on a few things.

I've taken to fishing in an attempt to have a hobby on Levie. If I have a hobby then it gives me something to do when I'm not working, plus, it gives me something to yearn for.

The newb helping guild was disbanded. I did not get my harvesters/crafting stations back before the guy took the guildhall. If I did, I would sell them really cheap, so fuck it.

Yesterday I decided to help a newb. I told him which weapon to equip, how to gain levels outside of the Legacy quest, and even ran a couple with him. I told him I would give him a house and a swoop for free. Now I'm just an NPC to him lol.

Levie hit level 90! Woo woo! Yrqo is almost 30, the AE killing fucking owns.

I've been gathering a lot of hides with Yrqo due to being able to wtf rape like 10 things at once depending on if they're melee or not. I plan on using these to create 5 or so of many pieces of furniture, to be sold at 3cpu (of resources used). The vendor will be in a bigger house with the furniture on display.

I've began mingling a bit in public. Namely if I see someone who recently bought something from me, I will talk to them about it, mention my low low prices and what I have coming in the future. Can't hurt business.

I moved my houses! I am very close to my old location near the RPing kiddies (whose guild tag is now T-Rep instead of RES for Resistance). The trip to my houses is fucking awesome. They are so out of the way I love it, you can not forget a trip to my shop because it takes so long and then the prices are so low. If you head north out of the nearest town with a shuttleport (New Starbird) you'll see a mountain peak in the distance. I figure most people would head straight for the top, once you get there, instead of falling off the other side, it's like riding a cliff of a mountain (the original peak is actually more like the corner of a ridge). It really feels good, after following it a bit the land opens up beneath and is very flat. There are some little trench looking features, one carves out a small peninsula shaped location, which is where my shop is. You cannot see any structure that doesn't belong to me in the area. I really like it, I think I could do a lot with this space. I nicknamed the area a month or two ago Levie's Flats, I may make use of this name sometime down the road.

I stopped farming the grind resources necessary because there is a new Steel (that I discovered, wewt wewt) which is better for making harvesters than the Steel I currently use. I moved every harvester I have to the highest concentration I could find (93%), which just happens to be located exactly where my house used to be, right next to the RP kiddies. I thought it was hilarious and quite the coinkydink as well.

I have 7 lots left on Jicont (more of a secret character) and no more harvesters. I now have 2 structure factories (am highly considering more) and made 1000 structural modules in each. Then using 5 of each of the 2 kinds of modules, created a schematic for wall modules. I should have around 198 wall modules when it is done. Wall modules are some of the more annoying parts of structures, as they require a lot of junk resources, and time to make. An elite mineral harvester requires 21 wall modules.

I don't know what I should do with my old Steel. I have about 380k of it, I recently bought 100k of it for 3cpu (omg steal on steel) and am now hesitant to resell it at a higher price. Maybe I should go and buy the rest off the other vendor beforehand? Meh!

Sometimes I wonder if I should just sell resources. My worries with that are running out, pricing too low, resellers, and that it could be too boring.

It sure would be nice to have some time away from crafting though.

I could have so much time to level Yrqo, and I might even make a lot more money.

Last Week (or so) in SWG

In my last post I talked about my neighbors and how gay they are. This post I'm going to try and fill in the gaps from then until now, if my memory serves me correctly (big IF).

You may remember a couple posts back about a "pipe dream" of creating a new player helping guild to attempt to improve SWGs retention rate. Well, a week or so ago I stumbled upon a post in the official SWG forums for my server from a guy who was asking if that had ever been done before. Some said it had been done but is no longer around. The guy said he would be interested in doing this and I signed on as the trader instructor. I was offered a role as Deputy Guild Leader but declined due to my sporadic play times/desire to play.

First thing I did was create 5 of each personal harvester capped with a BER of 5 (9 for the wind harvesters). I put them in a chest named Loan Harvesters and placed it in the guild hall. Next I got on Teokip and created a bunch of as good as I can control units, electronic gp modules, energy distributors, micro sensor suites and droid storage compartments. I then used these on Levie to create some as good as I can make crafting stations, all of which were over 29 functionality (cap is 44.99999 aka not gonna happen for a while), and placed them in the guild hall as well.

So far I have only talked to the leader a few times in game and one member who I think may have already quit. It kind of sucks, but I am in no shape to attempt to build a guild right now. I answered that guys space question and I don't even play the space game, you know, I did all I could really. It's hard to find givers willing to be instructors. Plus the leader is from the UK so our times are a bit off. I hear he has some UK members which I imagine to be neat when they're all online. Maybe some day I'll find out hah.

I moved my houses north of Bestine which is where our houses and guild hall are located. Which means I lost the neighbor war with the RP kiddies, dratz!

My business has picked up quite a bit, to the tune of me having over a million credits for around a week. I just posted an instant sale of the forums as well, if it sells (which it almost has to because I sell so cheap) then I'll be making 3 million.

I'm getting there my friend, yes I am.

I will be respeccing Teokip and Jicont (2nd trader on Teokip acct) to Structures Traders asap. It is too goddamn annoying trying to level 3 different Traders, this way I only have to focus on 3 resources. Water, metal, ore. I've got a shit ton of harvesters and making more has gotten a lot easier so harvesters are not a problem.

Levie is level 77 I believe, Teokip is 48, Yrqo hit 25, and Jicont is 18. I'll be respeccing Teokip and Jicont when they're 90. Then Teokip will be able to create advanced control units, micro sensor suites, etc which should get me closer to 44.99999 on the crafting stations.

I have created more +15.00 crafting tools on Levie, thanks to some high CD copper spawning on a planet that isn't Mustafar.

There is a spawn of low grade ore with pretty high HR/SR/UT which is better than the low grade ore I used to use on harvesters. Hooray.

I respecced Yrqo to a Commando. Commando is just so goddamn great, way better than Spy. I get grenades and then I get cluster bomb rofl. Cluster bomb is like 2 grenades at once I think, probably for more damage. You need 20 points on your kill meter to use it (and then the 20 points are gone) and there is even an expertise to add 2 more bombs to it which I'm getting asap.

I mainly made this change because I'd like to level Yrqo some time. I will probably do this via afk pet grinding which could lead me to afk junk loot farming. I'd do either asap if only I knew how, but I know the AOE has got to help a shit ton. Junk loot sells for 4.5k a piece but pretty much only if it is in bulk. People don't really go out of their way to buy your 1 piece of junk loot for 4.5k on your vendor unless you've got a bunch more there. Which is why I just save them for now.

I need to figure out how to get a cheap pet, I don't think they exist. I need to get afk grind macros. I need to have a level 90 combat toon OMG.

I stopped playing Bonedead/Inept due to the server being full of a bunch of dipshits (wow kiddie rejects) and the market being saturated with what I want to sell.

I guess that is it. I did it, haha, I remembered everything that happened since my last post, hooray! I should celebrate by buying another little bag of chronic, another week of the good stuff here I come!

Last Week in SWG

Alright, so if you haven't noticed, I'm trying to post once a week. Every Tuesday, that's the plan (and it is failing miserably).

I've had a busy week in Star Wars. Levie (my leveling trader who sells the cheap pass power) has had a very interesting week. Scuffles with the neighbors, his new apprentice/employee Teokip (my engineer trader on the 2nd account) and a bit of frightening slow business. Bonedead's life has been a bit dull, though he made $5 million in one transaction thanks to a little marketing. I see an apprentice/employee in his near future.

I'd like to start referring to my characters by their names. I've taken a bit to Roleplaying on Levie, Yrqo, and Teokip Oho due to my neighbors being RPers. Let us start off telling about my recent neighbor encounters.

When I first started playing Levie a half a year ago I made some friends. Well I made one friend, but he had a friend who was showing him the game. They were the "Resistance", when I asked what they were resisting they said everything. I realized they were a couple of kids by the way they talked.

Fast forward to now and my buddy no longer plays, but his friend does. My house is next to his in this sweet ass valley. He now has a big guild hall and apparently a guild and some members. My first encounter with them was on Teokip. He was in the shop when behind him he heard: "Get off Resistance property!" I turned around, looked him in the face, and threw up the ole /rude and promptly logged off. (To avoid drama and to continue my Trader work which takes multiple characters)

Later that day while on Levie, he approaches me in my shop yet again and goes through his whole spiel. So I said: "Hey guy, you know what, I'm going to build another house right now and place it right next to this one." That's exactly what I did too.

After that I was bothered by the guy a couple more times, I offered to sell him my land and eventually he just gave up.

My neighbors and their guild are really into roleplaying. They do the Storyteller shit and everything. What is the Storyteller shit? Well, apparently you can place your own NPCs and objects as a Storyteller (after you start a "Story", you invite people to it) and then you and your friends can act out a little scene. This is what my neighbors do for fun. Yrqo is a Spy, so I was able to observe them in their natural state for a bit lawl.

A couple of days pass and the leader is in my shop yet again, I wonder what the crap he wants, and he starts talking about me joining his guild. I tried to change the subject by saying that I found some really good Steel for making harvesters, but he was persistent saying: "That's why I want you to join." lol

I took down most of my harvesters due to not selling anything for a few days and having hardly any money. Here I was trying to run harvesters on 3 toons with a nonexistent budget; not to mention my accounts were running out of time soon and I didn't have enough RL money due to my employer switching payroll companies.

I took a little break, played some CS, and avoided my computer like the plague.

Then I decided that I would get to work some on Bonedead and that inspired me to do some work on The Ohos as well. I settle my differences with my neighbors, join a guild, and realize that patience truly is a virtue (kinda) as well. But that's for the next post.

Character Introductions pt. 2

Last time I introduced you to my characters on Bloodfin. Today I am going to be introducing my characters on Chilastra, my lower level, for some reason more enjoyable characters from Chilastra.

First up we have Levie Oho. Levie is a Structures Trader who currently sells Power at 2cpu. He is looking to expand his business into more things Structures (or Resources), but will need to master his profession first.

Levie Oho:
Here we see Levie sitting in his 'Thinking Chair' at his 'Planning Desk'. This is where he gets his business ideas. Those crafting stations right next to him is where he creates the tools needed for his business ideas.

When he isn't sitting in his office thinking of more ways to make money or more projects to create a greater supply of resources, he just might be standing outside of his shop admiring what he has accomplished so far.

Levie's older brother and original business partner, Yrqo Oho, helped Levie get his initial funding for his business via his skills as a Spy.

Yrqo Oho:
Since Yrqo has taken a break from the perils of being a Spy (the killing) he has taken to helping his brother out with his business. Usually this involves gathering resources from harvesters.

Though he avoids killing, Yrqo still enjoys sneaking around and eavesdropping on the neighbors. Sometimes his stealth can be good for business.

The youngest of the three brothers and the newest employee of Levie Oho's Cheap Pass Power is Teokip Oho, an Engineer Trader.

Teokip Oho:
Teokip is the only of the three brothers with the gall to go to Mustafar. This makes him a very valuable asset due to Mustafar being a very volcanic planet with high quality metals.

To give you an idea of how valuable of an employee he is, take a look at this Intrusive Ore he mined just yesterday.

Well, those are the Brothers Oho. I hope you enjoyed meeting them. My next posts are going to be on their life/goings on in the galaxy. There have been some interesting encounters with certain neighbors that I feel I should share with you.

Character Introductions

In my following posts I am going to be talking about my toons by their first name, so before I just went ahead and did that I thought, why not do introductions?

First we have Bonedead, owner of the currently private business: Bonedead & Company. He is a level 90 Structures trader based out of Tatooine on the Bloodfin server.

Bonedead:
Here we see Bonedead doing what he loves: Gathering resources from his harvesters. There even appears to be some wildlife in the background.

This is Bonedead's profession window showcasing some of his leet skrillz.

Next we have Bonedead's employee and probably some sort of eventual "bodyguard", Inept Eoshiswo. Inept is a level 50 Zabrak Jedi.

Inept Eoshiswo:
Inept prefers the environment on Tatooine. When he isn't working he enjoys just walking around in the sand by Bonedead's house.

Unfortunately it is 5 am, I woke up at 3 thirsty like a mofugga and look at me now. I wanted to update Tuesday but work sucked and today I'm in our main office so no goofin off. Here is a brief introduction for my favorite character family: The Ohos.

These toons are my favorite to play. I don't know if it is because there are 3 of them, that they're lower level, or that they have a vendor/business. What I do know is is that Levie, Yrqo, and Teokip Oho are a wonderful bunch of brothers. Levie is the middle child who started and runs the business as a Structures Trader. Yrqo is the oldest brother, a Spy by trade but works for Levie now to put his skills to a more interesting use. Teokip is the youngest brother who just recently joined what is becoming a successful family business as an Engineer Trader.

Remembering where you come from

When I started this blog my posts seemed to come from a different bonedead, a bonedead who didn't post as much shitty shit as I do these days. I am going to try and reconnect with that bonedead today, hopefully you enjoy.

After Warhammer's shiny faded I was feeling really down about MMOs as a whole. Understandable, some may say, but in truth this was my problem and my fault.

As you know I have returned to SWG. If you look at some of my first posts you will see that I was playing SWG on a 14 day trial and was complaining about it (me complain? no way!). There have been quite a bit of changes since then, the biggest one being that Munitions (read: Weapons/Armor) Traders can now make weapons of any level and they can be as good/better than the ones you get from the Legacy quest (I'm talkin low levels here).

What does this mean for me? Well it means that my dream of having a shop right outside of Mos Eisley selling newbie gear is possible for the first time since the infamous SWG revamp. I think that calls for a celebration! But I can't do that just yet because it takes time to get to that point. You can't just throw a celebration party in game at your empty bare ass house with your vendor only stocked with cheap ass power, especially when your house is about as far from Mos Eisley as you can be without leaving Tatooine.

No no no, I will need to reach level 90, I will then need to craft myself a bunch of elite harvesters/heavy harvesters of most kinds, not to mention a couple houses (why not), a butt load of furniture, and anything else I can think of. Then I will need to change professions to a Munitions Trader, spend a lot of time gathering resources that meet Weaponsmith quality standards, then make a fuck load of newb weapons of many levels. Then I might be ready.

But how will you get the word out about your celebration/grand opening bonedead? Well there are these things called the official forums, I think that would be a good place to start. Then I would probably get a droid and program it to bark out news of the celebration including waypoint coordinates and set it outside of the Mos Eisley starport, right where newly created characters spawn (and everyone and their mother walks by).

I wonder if players can increase a game's subscriber base by their actions in the game. I bet they can, because we all know they can decrease the subscriber base (ruthless ganking anyone?).

Today's pipe dream: Creating a new player welcoming guild. New people make a new character and see us around them offering help and freebies, sure some of them would act like spoiled little bitches, but after a few weeks that should go away hopefully lol. But we round up a few at a time and then take them back to our Guild mansion city palace which is decorated so elegantly that even the most hardcore of the hardcore PvPers would consider trying out RP. We perform a couple of initiation rituals and generally make them feel welcome.

I wonder how many new players spawn at Mos Eisley, do a few quests in the Legacy line, get bored and just quit. I bet we the players are capable of improving SWG's retention rate. Wouldn't that be something. A game many thought to be dead/dying comes back to life thanks to the players, which would lead to more attention from SOE on the game, which means more content/updates, which makes everyone happy.

All you see around the internet is people complaining about how the company did it wrong (for any game) and how people are quitting in droves and it's all the company's fault. Take Warhammer for instance. If everyone stopped queuing for friggin scenarios and started communicating with each other and planning events etc, their servers would've stayed more lively. Just look at Averheim. They planned a city siege right off the bat which must of brought an amazing sense of community to that server. I see that they were a server that could transfer elsewhere during the server consolidation crisis of 08, but I also see a post titled: "We need to stick together Averheim" in which the whole server discusses transferring as a whole instead of splitting up. I wonder if that has anything to do with the first major city siege attempt.

The players can change the games in ways the devs can only dream of, the majority just don't know it. Shit, I didn't even know it until today. I have a feeling that most of the older MMO players have known all along and that is why they stay in their group of friends through many MMOs, because the players make the game into the game you want to play.

/rant off

In SWG I currently have 2 accounts subbed. On one account I have a 50 Trader and 30 Spy on the Chilastra server. This is the Trader currently selling cheap power that I've been talking about. He recently made his first Elite harvesters at a disappointing BER35 (max is 44). On the Bloodfin server I have a 90 Trader and a 50 Jedi. He doesn't even have a vendor but I think he is going to soon. I don't even play the combat classes though I hear of a new Meatlump Theme park (series of quests like what Jabba's palace used to be before the revamp) and this new theme park is geared for level 50s or so. The 90 Trader also made some Elite harvesters (at the same time as the 50) and they ended up being BER44, hooray!

On the other account I have a 50 Smuggler and 20 Medic on the Starsider (RP) server. This account was my Complete Online Adventures account which comes with the ATRT mount of awesome speed. I created a Trader on Chilastra with this account, got him to level 14 which gave me enough expertise to maximize my sampling capabilities (gathering resources without harvesters) and sent him over to Mustafar. Mustafar has the best metal in the friggin game, but you can only mine it by hand. So I've got my level 14 just sitting out there and I occasionally log him in to sit there and mine phat resources while I go afk, coming back only occasionally to click the Ignore survey device button so I can continue sampling. I plan to do this on Bloodfin as well.

The reason I used the second account for this was because the Complete Online Adventures comes with every expansion, whereas my main account has every one except Trials of Obi-Wan which allows you access to Mustafar.

It feels like I haven't played in days when in reality I just didn't play yesterday. I've got my Elite harvesters mining up a bunch of good shit, when I return today I will probably move them to another resource. There isn't much active participation required at this stage in my Traders' careers.

Well that is all I have time for right now, gotta get back to work!

Playing Casually

MMO gaming just doesn't have the attraction that it used to for me. There just isn't that much diversity, which everyone has pretty much known for a couple years. However I don't think that is the main reason for my loss of interest. I'm honestly not exactly sure what the main reason is. So I'm going to attempt to figure out why they don't hold my attention.

In my MMO prime I played for a few reasons:
1) I wanted to be a recognized name in the games I played. The first to do certain things such as hit max level first, be the best PvPer on the server, the best anything. I just wanted to be recognized on my server as a top dog. When I think about it, not many people get that kind of recognition anymore with server transfers, dying servers, even the existence of classes limits your ability to "shine". I still remember names from DAoC/UO of the top dogs. To name a few: Swiftdeathz, Yohanicus, Bullvine, Eran Darkenstorm, Garret Jax, even in FPSes: Kyle Miller (KSharp), Johnathon Wendell (Fatality). I know more first and last names but I think I look nerdy enough!

2) I wanted competition, which most games provide to some extent, however, it usually takes some time before you can even compete. I didn't need to be the best to compete, but I knew that through competition I could become the best, and I have the drive and motivation to do that. The problem is that I usually am unable to zombie out enough to reach the point where I can compete. I pretty much never have. I've reached max level, but then you get another grind to get gear/more skills/more levels/etc which is fucking disheartening. Especially when you feel so accomplished when you finally reach max level, you feel like you've finally done something, and they smack you in the face with yet another grind. To make it even worse, the new grinds aren't always easy to figure out, the game doesn't tell you, there aren't guides on it, you can ask someone who could give you an answer but odds are later down the road someone will say "You're doing it wrong".

You know, I could sit here and act out the victim, trying to make you as upset as I am about not being able to have fun in MMOs, but what the fuck is that going to accomplish? Diddly friggin shit.

I have to play casually, I have to try to not care about it, I have to keep it simple, and I have to be consistent. That is it, if I can keep doing that then I am going to feel like I have accomplished something, that something being having fun.

I have had fun on 3 occasions recently. Once during some Quake 3 with my brother and his roommates, Scoutzknivez in CS 1.6, and running a business in SWG.

Quake 3 (or more importantly the mod Rocket Arena 3) is one of my favorite past times, way back from when myself and the people I know still lanned. We could play this game for hours with a couple of good friends and it would not get boring. I think the reasons I enjoyed this was because: 1) I was playing with my friends. and 2) Because it takes 2 rails to kill your opponent, so after being hit once and hitting the other guy once you're both on the edge of your seat trying your damndest to fucking kill each other. Not to mention Rocket Jumping.

Scoutzknivez provides me with the same feeling as Quake 3 multiplied by about 10. It is faster paced, you have more maneuverability that requires practice/skill, you only have 2 weapons and both generally require 2 hits to kill someone but also have the ability to kill people in 1 hit. It is fucking intense and gives me such a rush sometimes that I'm truly fearing for my in game life at times, that is immersion most MMOs can never provide. In fact I notice that I only feel similar in MMOs when I have extremely low HP and my opponent does as well.

With SWG I have always wanted to be known as a merchant with quality goods and the lowest prices. Now we all know that you can't have 3/3 when it comes to Quality/Time/Price. However, in SWG power is a resource that pretty much every trader needs. Now there is power that provides 2 units of energy per 1 unit of power, but the majority is just 1:1. So what I have done, since quality doesn't really matter here, is focused on being the Cheapest and the Timeliest. I am basically having my cake and eating it too. I sell the cheapest power on my server and I'm only a 3rd of the max level. Quantity may be limited due to my level, however, I'm profiting hand over fist so I will be able to rectify my quantity (Timeliness) problem by buying bigger harvesters. Now I had been working on this for around a week and no one was buying anything. I even had small stacks selling for 1k, 2k, 5k, etc for the newbies that are starting up and find themselves lacking power. I also sell larger stacks at 10k, 20k, 30k, etc for the lazy people. My price? 2 credits per unit. I honestly do not know the average price for power, but I am almost positive that it is at least 3 cpu. I reach this conclusion because the cheapest junk/grind Ore is 3 cpu, one unit of power equates to anywhere between 10-20 units of ore. After a week, I got my first sales from 2 customers and they bought up all of my big stacks. I made 100k and spent maybe 30k. My costs will go down severely after my next batch because I don't have to buy a couple of harvesters, I've just got to pay maintenance.

The fun was thinking, shit, this business idea is going to flop, people don't want to buy power. Logging in and hearing that little email notification got me so excited, I was hoping I wouldn't see any STRUCTURE DAMAGED! emails, and was extremely happy to see Vendor Item Sold emails as far as the eye could see. Now that I've got it set up I don't need to monitor it every day, so I don't pressure myself into feeling like I have to play more because I'm being a slack ass in advancement. I figure if I just make a bunch of money, build my business up, and establish a customer base that I will ease myself into the community (which I never do because I just don't know how). This will open a lot of doors for me if I ever want to play the combat game of SWG, which I would love to do someday.

I just took a small 30 minute break to check my business and what do ya know? I made another 100k. Now one thing that I noticed this time is that only Solar Power was purchased, leaving me with a ton of Wind Power just sitting in there collecting dust. So what do I do? Keep making bigger stacks. The small stacks aren't selling, as long as I have 5 stacks selling at 5k, I can focus on getting 5 stacks at 10k, and so on and so forth. I used the Wind Power to build the steps on the ladder and the Solar Power to build the highest stacks, because those are almost guaranteed to sell. My thoughts now are definitely on the future, I may be done with Wind Power as soon as I can afford to either grind to the appropriate level needed to make different power harvesters or just buy harvesters from someone else. You have to spend some money to make money, but you don't want to go spending it all before you make any, so I will definitely need to be careful. If the Wind Power sits there after I upgrade my harvesters then I will probably sell it for 1cpu just to get it out of the door. I will still be profiting selling at 1cpu, but there is no need to sell that cheap yet. If I start to get some competition, I will most definitely lower my prices to less than 2 cpu. If I am persistent my competition will give up due to such small profits.

Looking further into the future of my business, after my power business is established, I could see myself expanding into Minerals. Just the basics at first, but I would most definitely sell it extremely cheap. I will probably only sell specific types of Ore, say high conductivity ore and advertise it as great for making Crafting Stations/Crafting Tools. I would also sell ore with high Shock/Heat Resistance along with high Unit Toughness and advertise it as great ore for making the best harvesters.

I can't focus on the future too much though, if I get ahead of myself I will start getting my hands caught in the cookie jars and quit due to bruised fingers. I must take it one step at a time, slowly establishing myself in each market, until I eventually take over as the number one Structures Trader/Resource Harvester. But I must focus on taking it one step at a time, establishing myself as a Power farmer, then as a specialized Ore farmer, then as a Harvester salesman, and eventually covering all things Structures. But for now, I am a simple Power farmer, which has been taunting me to roleplay and is quite appealing.

I watch more movies and television these days than I have played games, and I've had more fun in the games when I play them than I have in a while. Playing casually has really made me a happier gamer and a happier person in general.

So get out of the rat race that is your standard MMO community and take your time to have some fun (if you haven't been due to trying to fit in and go with the grain of your average MMO community).

1) Leveling quickly. When I can level fast, I really feel like I'm accomplishing something. Especially when I'm leveling faster than my peers, it makes me feel like I figured out how to do it faster, therefor I am better than my peers. I like that feeling.

2) Not leveling slowly. There is nothing more boring than hitting the same 5 goddamn keys over and over again. I fucking hate playing a couple to a few hours and not leveling. That is stupid fucking bullshit and you fucking know it!

The one thing I keep hearing is that if you want to have fun in an MMO you need a group to play with. Why? People like me don't play MMOs and if they do it is probably WoW. Go guard a bridge somewhere and make people pay the toll or fuckin die? No, because games don't let you do that. "EVE DOES LOL" Yeah, it does, after three months of dick suckin and ass kissin. When I was a CS noob I would play in servers 1v1 with good people (because everyone slowly left because he was raping them) and let them rape me over and over until either I killed them or they quit. Why? Am I some weird fuck who likes losing all the damn time? No, it is because I fucking wanted to learn and get better and not be a fucking noob.

When I reached what would normally be fun in DAoC, I didn't even remember the encounter (a.k.a. THE FUN). It wasn't fun because I was trying to hard to have fun, if that makes sense.

So here is a short list that sucks a lot of ass, you butthole:
1) DAOC - 6 hours until fun
2) Warhammer - Instant fun
3) Battlefield 2 - A few games until you have fun

Working on Time to Fun

If you remember my list of games, Warhammer was at the top. Well, I said that list was tentative and guess what, I was right! I started a DAoC 14 day trial and made a Hunter on the Classic server cluster. So far he is level 19 and has only encountered a very very small amount of fun.

I'm still trying to think of a way to approach every game (a sort of template) so that I can compare them all.

I have probably 60 gigs of video that I need to encode (already encoded about 30!) to go into the videos I plan on having to attempt to make you feel what I feel when playing. I try to capture all of my bored moments, all of my fun spikes (when I start to have a little fun), and all of my fun encounters. I've been taking screenshots every time I level with my /played time in there as well.

I've basically recorded my experience thus far in DAoC. Whether I release the videos or not, I can use them to relive my experiences and thus delve deeper into how I felt at those exact moments. So it should prove to increase my awareness of what I enjoy, and yours as well.

It isn't going to be a short time project, this is going to take a lot of time (I've come to realize) but I do intend on seeing it all the way through (at least once!).

I figure I'll just go through my normal MMO cycle and just record the majority of what I do in the games, replay the moments and attempt to describe why I enjoy what I do and what I don't enjoy.

Just playing a game and taking a screenshot of your /played the moment you start to have fun isn't going to be very entertaining. It's too easy.

I'm thinking of also having a Timeline (with more details/screenshots/video) of my characters /played. That would be the best way to organize the information I'm getting, but I'm not going to make people watch a bunch of crap to understand me. Which is why I will first review all of the material (in game experiences) and write probably multiple entries. Short, long, extra long, and the timeline. That's the direction I'm currently leaning, anyway.

P.S. - This DAoC stint may get scrapped and turn into a trial run for establishing parameters to use when approaching the games.

Time to Fun

In honor of Jeff Freeman's "Time to Cock" (Exhibit 1], Exhibit 2) idea that basically measures how long it takes for a game with player created content to have player created cocks, I am going to have a "Time to Fun" segment. In this segment I will be playing many MMOs while timing how long it takes for me to begin having fun, how long that fun lasts, why it is fun, what ends the fun, and as many other facets regarding the fun as I can think of.

It may be slanted more towards PvP because I feel that most PvE in MMOs these days (and those days) is just the same old shit. But that does not mean I will not be PvEing, I will indeed have to PvE in these games, however for a player like myself the fun comes in the form of competition. But that isn't to say that I won't enjoy PvE in certain games, I suspect SWG PvE may be fun for me.

Here is a tentative list of games that I am going to subject to my "Time to Fun" segment:
1) Warhammer Online
2) Dark Age of Camelot
3) World of Warcraft
4) Star Wars Galaxies
5) Everquest 2
6) EVE Online

The order is subject to change and the list itself will probably grow. I am unsure about Age of Conan since I haven't even played it yet which could slant the results.

I had to abandon my Destruction characters and my Destruction server because I had already wasted enough time there, knowing the whole time that it would suck at T4. Why would it suck at T4? Well because the majority of players are WoW fags, shit, everyone is a WoW fag nowadays. Well that doesn't mean anything Bonedead you friggin butthole! Ahh, but it does young padawan, it does indeed mean something. It means that PvE server fags from WoW are going to choose a Core server because Core means PvE (Mythic changed a lot of names of things so they wouldn't be WoW-like).

The problems come from WoW imo. Destruction = Horde. Horde = more PvPers/wins more in PvP. Order = Alliance. Alliance = more PvEers/lose more in PvE.

I understand that some really good PvP people pick Alliance/Order because of the above fact, but they are easily outnumbered.

So, here I was playing on my Core Server as Destruction. I never have any problems getting to a keep to buy some new phat Renown gear. I do, however, have problems trying to find Order characters in RvR. A look at Tier 4 RvR zones and what do I see? Red red red, everywhere.

I understand that Order would tend to naturally have less players just because it is Order, however, mix that with a WoW PvEers mentality (a.k.a. me want some sort of easyadvancement RIGHT NOW) and voila: you have Order refusing to take keeps for the following reasons:
1)As soon as we log off, Destro will retake them
2)We'll get zerged if we try
3)Not as rewarding as PvEing

Shit one of the few people I did run into wasn't in the RvR zone, so I couldn't even fight him. I had to flag myself for RvR and then hope he would do the same.

Nowadays on my Open RvR server which I play Order on, if I get bored I can just go camp outside a Destro town and just wait for people to kill. Or I can queue for Scenarios and get in within 15 minutes tops.

Shit I even feel more inclined to group. Since I've been here on my new server of love I have grouped (outside of scenarios lol) on a few separate occasions. One to PvE a group of quests and another to take the RvR objectives in Tier 1.

What I have played so far as Order:
15 Witch Hunter
13 Bright Wizard
7 Shadow Warrior
5 Warrior Priest
5 Swordmaster

Most recent being Bwndead the Warrior Priest. I think maybe WP will be my class. I love healing (surprising to me), I like hitting, this is a bit of both. I topped Healing meters last night and had more damage than half my team with the most Death Blows as well, at level 5. I felt inclined to give WP a try when I heard that it could solo Champion mobs of equal level well into his 20s. I don't know if that is true or not but it sounds fucking awesome. There was also this uber WP I saw in Nordenwatch a lot while leveling Momilda my Witch Hunter. He like never died, ever, with 12 dudes beating on him. It was amazing.

The Swordmaster shows some promise as well, I like being able to take damage AND hurt people. If I took SM further I would probably spec into the defensive Mastery tree (the increase parry swing and the self buff).

The BW is pretty sexy. Still very squishy though, I don't know if I am a fan of that, I am a fan of shooting 5 zillion fireballs at their whole team though. I don't know if I'm taking this one any further.

The Shadow Warrior is similar to the BW in that it is ranged DPS. They just feel so much alike, it is basically like this: Don't get hit, stay far away, and do as much damage as possible. Which isn't that fun for me.

The Witch Hunter is a joke compared to the Witch Elf. The Witch Elf has a 25% chance to proc a very strong DD EVERY SWING (as long as they open with the appropriate kiss) and can easily raise that chance to 50% as I did on mine. The Witch Hunter, however, deals an equal DD except it is every time they use an Execution. Yep, an Execution, you know...the skill that uses up all of your charges. Your finishing move. The one that you only use maybe twice in a fight against one person. The damage output just isn't comparable at fucking all, I don't care what you say, the Witch Elf is so much fucking better at being an assassin than the WH.

I've been wanting to do some more videos and take some more pictures but I really haven't felt like anything has really been worthy recently. The Scenario scoreboard screenshots aren't really that great imo. They don't show how good I really am.

It is CS, in RPG land, a perfect match made in my fucking image of heaven. I love every goddamn second of it because I am so goddamn good.

Stupid fucking baby destruction, reroll Order you fag. Bright Wizards are the squishiest motherfuckers in all the land, and I rape them for fun.

Seriously, this is what I do when approaching the mass of Order.

I stealth before I'm in range and since I am usually the first person they see, half of them lose their targets right before the 2 armies collide, so that is plus fucking 1 for me.

Then I pick my first target, a caster in the back or off to the side. I have 2 use from stealth skills, one does damage to the target whenever they use a melee ability, the other does damage to the target whenever they MOVE. Haha, I bet you can guess which one I prefer.

So I pick out usually a squishy ass bish who looks like he would try to run away in fear for his life, because doing damage every time they move really fucking adds up. Shit, pretty much all of the order on my server probably don't even know I can do that. Sometimes I'll put it on a guy and then switch targets and after I kill that guy I'll see the first guy running away taking damage out the ass lol, they have no idea.

Sometimes I will put it on the first tank, because he is bound to do a lot of running around. Pretty much if you're not an Ironbreaker or a Swordmaster and I jump you from stealth, you're fucking done, just give up dude, I will die for the 1 kill and 1 deathblow you will give me. I will take scolding from my teammates to stick with the group just to make you lose, and I will never regret it. You should pretty much be shitting yourself right now.

Do not run away from me. I'm just telling you, that is a good way to die. In case you didn't know, a Witch Elf's throw slows you if it hits you in the back. Also, a Witch Elf's throw can proc my bonus damage as well, it also uses less action than a regular melee attack. My proc chance is 50% buddy, my proc damage is around 120-140, after mitigation. You know you don't have a lot of HP man, why would you run away?

I know I am not untouchable. I know that sometimes when I chase someone into the crowd that is their team that I am probably going to die, which means I also know that I HAVE to kill you or else I have failed. You should be scared. Not to mention the whole morale boost thing.

What is that, you say? Morale boost thing? Yes, this is not a game mechanic I speak off, but rather a human mechanic. Interesting Mr. Bonedead, but how does it work? Well my friend, I will tell you!

When I jump the Runepriest alone, in the middle of your whole team, my team sees this. They are rooting for me to fucking kill your only hope of survival, your healer. If I can do this, by sacrificing myself, my team will want to fucking destroy every one of you order fucks. Not to mention all of you guys switching targets to me, see because now instead of focusing on our healers you are focusing on yours. You're not taking out my teams squishies, you're taking out my teams assassin, you're taking out my teams leader, which is exactly what I want. Infuriate my team, please, I beg of you.

Many people forget about IRL morale, it is a very powerful weapon, and it is easily controlled through psychology/sociology, especially in an US vs. THEM mentality.

Of course it doesn't always work, especially when I fail. But you know, how big of a problem is that really? I mean we sometimes have scenarios with 1 or 0 healers on our side, that seems like a much bigger problem to me than one Witch Elf suiciding on their healer. At least I'm trying to help, you know.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH DESTRUCTION:
Pussy losers on our team. Yep, all of you motherfuckers who startin whining in /sc within 5 minutes of the start of the scenario. You motherfuckers are the reason we lose. I can explain this as being the opposite of myself. I attempt to inspire my team and raise morale whereas you feel like a failure, like our doom is inevitable, and you spread your fucking pussy breath around all over everyone and it makes them more like you. They stop caring, they just want it to be over so they can have their shit ass xp/renown and queue right back up with the hopes of more players like me being on their team.

The winners are the rushers, who do not show fear, who assert their superiority on their enemies with their "body language". If me and my 2-3 other rushing teammates wipe the floor with Orders 2-3 rushing characters, the rest of the order team is watching this from a distance, and it fucking scares them. They think, oh fuck we just lost 3 fucking guys, now it is 9 versus 12, we're fucking screwed OMG RUN AWAY!!!!

Whereas my teammates see it and think, holy shit we've already got the advantage on these motherfuckers! Heal those guys in front! We've got them on the fucking run, boys! CHAAAAARRRRRRGGGGEEE!!!!!!

That is how you fucking win, my friends. You don't complain, you don't cry, you don't accept defeat. You fight til the last second, you bathe in the blood of your victims, and you push forward to victory.

I have been busy with real life gheyness etc. Been playing some CS:S because my new computer can finally run it with high fps. Don't worry, I'll be returning to Warhammer shortly, though honestly I don't know for how long.

I always find myself not reaching max level in MMOs and I'm starting to think of that as a not so bad thing, I mean shit if it isn't fun why fucking torture myself amirite? People usually would lump me in with the "instant gratification" crowd, but it doesn't feel like I just want everything handed to me. I just don't want to have to dedicate so much goddamn time something you know?

I'd love to play Warhammer to max level, but other MMOs are calling my name (SWG, DAoC, even UO lol, and Vanguard since I could run it finally).

I just don't know what I want to do yet. I've got a bunch of shit to do today after work, I'm out of weed, I mean shit, how am I supposed to play games?

Well I wasn't at first, but my TheRapist told me something that made me change my mind. When you try to ignore a part of you (say the drug addict side) it goes underground (in your mind) and actually becomes stronger. So, if I was a drunkard and said, alright no more drinking from this day on! I would probably relapse and relapse hard. I always try to do this with weed, I can't imagine what it would be like doing it for games. But I don't want to relapse, so I just got take things slower, and ween myself off.

Does this mean I'm planning on quitting my weed and MMO habits? Well I guess yes on half of it, I don't think I'll ever stop playing games. Who knows. All I know is that my Rapist is a pretty sweet dude and every time I see him he fucking blindsides me with a 500 pound truth trout, it is always something I just don't take the time to analyze and see.

Hooray!

I did a lot of leveling this weekend, bringing my Witch Elf from R13-14 to R19. Almost got my mount. For some reason I thought leveling slowed down at 12, but it really isn't that hard at all. I hope it is just me being in love with Mythic masking the grind to my eyes, because it sure would suck if it slowed down significantly in T3 lol.

I kinda wanna talk about how fucking cool the Stonetroll Crossing T2 scenario is. I mean what a simple yet awesome idea. Grab the ball (like Mourkain) but then you have to also cap the ball at these 3 locations. I thought it was pretty unique to say the least (which I am doing).

Hey Mythic, thanks for making your jumping so enjoyable/fun, maybe next time anticipate people like me trying to jump on hand rails, the edge of cliffs, the tops of walls, etc. I am really getting tired of being stuck in a fucking thing that I should be able to walk on. Thanks!

Even MORE on WAR (with some negative)

First, you may notice that my xfire only has me down for 5 hours of WAR in the past two weeks. Well, let me tell you that I have 2 characters that are R12/RR11 with about a day played time for each. You may be asking, but why Mr. Bonedead, why does your xfire lie to us so?

Well I will tell you my friend, I can't run Warhammer very well with xfire also running. Shit, I disable my fuckin AVG security thingy before I play just to squeeze out those couple extra fps, so that I can have all 10 fps while playing (numbers may be exaggerated but probably not by much).

I have realized there are a few little features that I have come to expect from MMOs. Some of them may surprise you and none of them are currently features in WAR.

1) Swimming down in water. Even DAoC eventually got a "down" command for diving into water. WoW appears to have planned it as a feature from the get go. But WAR does not yet have shit in the swimming area. Sure, there aren't any sea monsters that I would want fight if I could swim down, but I'm just sayin.

Maybe Mythic is thinking, stay the fuck out of the water. Remember what ToA did to us (the expansion that added swimming under water)? Who knows if this is true, I'm just sayin.

2) Putting items into chat. Sure, there are annoying people who link an item to guild chat every 5 minutes or less, and we are annoyed by these people. But why should the rest of us suffer? Even DAoC (yeah I went there again, Mythic!) eventually implemented the feature.

Now don't get me wrong, this could be a feature in WAR right now. If it is, it isn't any logical fucking combination of keys. No shift click, no ctrl click, no dragging onto the chat window or the text input bar. No shift/ctrl click while the chat input bar is opened, no, as I said if it is in game it is not logical.

3) Special mobs looking just like regular mobs. This one I can't believe they overlooked. Seriously, even fucking WoW had the decency to dye the special gorilla gray instead of brown. I had a quest on my Witch Elf for over a goddamn day because the special named mob was just standing on the outskirts of the PQ area just like the 100 other mobs all around him. There was no significant change in geography, no special object ie fountain/statue leading me towards this guy.

As far as I could tell, this guy was not special. It makes me wonder if the High Elves even considered that guy as important. I mean come on, you're telling me that this guy is important enough for my military officers to order me to assassinate his ass while he is stationed on the outskirts of the tower with all the shitty fucks that no one cares about? Maybe we got some bad intel? I'm just sayin.

For the record, I could understand and accept this flaw if it happened at high end/mid level content. But this is tier 1 I'm talking about. The most important tier for setting the hook in your customers cheek, and you fucked it up. (lullz)

4) No special solo content. I understand that you want people to group, WAR, I really do and I applaud the steps you have taken to achieve that. However, I think you didn't count on people like me. See, I waited before I bought you. That's right, I didn't just run in with open arms the moment you turned 18. Why? Because I wanted to hear about the pudding, my friend. Because you see, the proof is in the pudding, mkay.

So a month goes by, most people have decided on a class and are out of tier 1. Enters: ME. I have only gotten 1 PQ loot bag, fucking 1 bitch, 1 goddamn loot bag. I wish I had fucking 50, but I only got 1. I'll tell you why too. See, the only people in tier 1 are the people like me (few and far between) who play at odd hours of the AM (3AM-7AM depending on how early I woke up, not on purpose) and regular hours in the PM (6PM-10PM est). It doesn't seem that odd to me, it seems like there should be a fuck load of people for me to play with. But there aren't.

The one PQ I was able to complete was in the Dark Elves land. Why? Because People want to play FOTM Disciple of Khaine, not to mention my Nordenwatch fanboys who saw me fucking raping on my Witch Elf. So yeah, there were enough to do 1 PQ, once.

Now don't get me wrong, I've read all the hullabuhloo about waiting at the PQ for more people to show up, but you know what? I like advancing in the time I play. I like to maximize my efficiency when it comes to leveling, which I would assume seems logical to most people. As it is, with 3-4 hours a day to play (work day), I feel as though I don't have enough time. You expect me to wait fucking 5 minutes (which you fucking KNOW is a goddamn lifetime when you just want to maximize efficiency)? Really?

There is nothing more frustrating to me than being in a PQ area grinding influence because out of the 4 rewards and 4 potions I want one of the Elite items that I'll probably outgrow in 1 session of playing, and after killing 25 fucking newb mobs I upgrade the PQ to Stage 2. Why? Because Stage 2 always introduces champion fucking mobs that are either all over the goddamn place or are running around like fucking ninjas in and out of clouds of smoke. Why does this bother me? Because even though I can usually solo a champion mob my level, I can't fucking solo 2 of them. I can't even solo 1 champion mob and a blue/green easy/effortless mob. That is fucking stupid bullshit my friend.

Here is whats worse: Yesterday while waiting in the queue for Nordenwatch (though I queue all 3) I decided to roam the lands of RvR in the Greenskin vs Dwarf Tier 1 zones. I found a fucking troll cave, which is fucking sweet imo, a place to explore. Maybe at the bottom of this cave is some elite fuckin troll for me to rape and get phat lewt from. Because I am a Rank 11 Chosen, I am a badass, and these trolls are levels 3 and 4 so even if there is a hard dude I should be able to easily take his ass, right?

WRONG! The cave turns out to be a tunnel through the mountain. After reaching the other side I look at my map and see the roads that are marked. I see that to my right is a marked path and to my left I see what appears to be a path, but it is not on the map. So I head left to explore and stumble upon a level 4 heroic troll. Hooray! Just what I was looking for.

Immediately after engaging the troll in combat I regretted my decision. You see this troll was kicking my fucking level 11 tank ass, seriously. So I hunkered down and fucking played the best I could and barely pulled out a victory. What was my phat lewt reward? Fucking nothing. At least nothing of any notable value or significance. And that my friend, is fucking stupid. Just sayin.

Finally
5) Level 35 Heroic Mobs roaming towns in "Contested" areas. I don't know, maybe it is because I am on a Core server, in which case I blame my brother's friend for being a douche. But I really think that if I can go from an RvR zone and sneak past the fucking heroic asshole mobs and get into little Dwarf land that I should be able to fucking beat up their towns and draw them out. No no no, Mythic doesn't want any of that. I mean why should destroying their quest givers and merchants be allowed in, uh, WAR? Nothing sucks more ass than being 1 shot and you of all people should know this, Mythic (old school rogues in DAoC anyone?)!

Seriously, if I have to wait fucking 15 minutes to be able to join a Scenario, and I've already helped take every Tier 1 RvR objective and SOLOED the three others, I think there should be some goddamn way for me to earn Renown. Just sayin.

First of all: Time Elapsed
Apparently we didn't play during the time when uh, time takes place.

The final scores seem right because one team has 500.
Oh man, Kills: 10 and 11?
Damage: 23k and 18k?

Really?

I mean the 2nd screenshot seems to have the right Kills and Damage but then the time is off. Shit in the 2nd one I am pretty sure I am in the Greenskin RvR area in Tier 1, but my mini map says Fortress and I have people surrounding me. Maybe it is just my computer being bad.

Then we get to the third one and we see that we fuckin killed them, allowing only 9 friggin kills lol. Haha man that has got to suck some shit.
Then look at my score. Most damage on the team, tied for most killing blows, got a solo kill, 33 and 1 record. Now look at my renown: lowest on the goddamn team.

I feel like I contributed the most, considering I did the most damage, finished 7 friggin people off, killed one guy who was sneaking off trying to secretly cap a fort, and what do I get? Double digits renown while my team gets friggin 200.

Sweet Warhammer, really sweet.

I guess the trade off is that I got the most XP by about 800, which is pretty substantial.

BUT I WANT RENOWN NOT XP FAGOR.

That last one was from my Witch Elf.

These are from my Chosen 1h/shield.

One thing I've noticed is that getting renown does not mean getting kills. I used to think that getting renown had to do with getting killing blows. Now I am almost certain you get more renown for helping secure the forts. Sure you get some for kills, but not nearly as much as you do for standing there and making those little bars move.

I could complain about how actually killing people is worth less than standing there, but I guess I can accept that securing forts is more beneficial to your realm. Even though it's gay.
